  1. Hi guys. I'm looking for options in low profile thigh packs. I have a few of the neopax thigh packs but they are a little to thick for the outfits on one particular actress. She doesn't like the Coban I have on hand either. Any suggestions?
  2. http://www.mcnett.com/gearaid/mirazyme#36132 Mirazyme. I use it on my backpacks and hydration packs. Those get really sweaty and stinky. Check it out. It's cheap and works well.
  3. The cinella shock mounts are really quiet. Very modern design. Big improvement over the rycote design IMHO.
  4. Try turning off any cart based transmitters first. I had this happen and it was my bst 75-216. It needed to be moved over an inch to fix the problem. RF voodoo. Good times.
  5. It was a mountain bike. I was talking about armour the day before, but felt due the simplicity of the rides I have been doing it was unnecessary. I was just doing hill climbs for the interval type training I have been doing. Boy do I wish I was wearing some. Oh and I was going to go pick up a used XR650L last Saturday, but had a change of heart... That dream is not totally dead though. On hold for now.
  6. Ha. No I was still in shock. Started feeling it once the nurses started to scrub clean the wounds. Was in emergency for 3 1/2 hours getting the gravel pulled out.
  7. I wiped out on a logging road 35 minutes before I was supposed to leave for breakfast. So I set up my cart and my fabulous boom op Blair Dykes sat in the chair while I visited emergency. Best,
  8. Good call on the push to talk. I'm getting one too.
  9. Yorkville 550 watt powered speaker with a Shure beta 58 wireless mic. Never any complaints.
  10. I think you need to adjust the hex screw in the bottom of the section that is creaking. With a mic and suspension on the pole you should be able to break(undo) the knuckles and the section should float gently down. The bottom most plastic part of the section should be adjusted to attain this. I have found in the past that this helps. If its not that, I can't imagine what else it could be. Best G
  11. You need to fill out a report at time of injury, be assessed by a first aid person who then would endorse your report. Without proof of injury on the day you have nothing. It's important to always have the proper paperwork filled out to document an injury.
  12. I have these on all my suspensions. Called the Charlie bar after the great boom op Charlie OShea who invented and first manufactured them. Bought mine at Trew Vancouver. Machined aluminum. Very nice fitament.

  14. I had those issues. I would be careful with paper as it can break off and make the problem worse.
  15. Pick locations with less traffic? Countryman head worn mic that attaches over the ear and puts the mic an inch away from your mouth. I think those two options would work very well for you.
  16. I just downloaded the latest and its still crashing as soon as I try to change a freq. with: all and compatible. On custom, the enter screen pops up and it allows a custom freq to be entered.
  17. Freq finder is crashing on my iPhone 4 when I try to change a freq. instant crash. I Shut off all other apps and also did a power off and restart to see if that improved anything. Nope. Just read your post on crashing. Copy that.
  18. So don't use eneloops? Problem solved.
  19. Go on Mandy's.com and look for student films and lo no deferred opportunities. It's a good place to start.
  20. I bought a few for a series called primeval last year. They were the only thing I could get clean on the two leads. They were constantly put in tactical vests, carrying guns with shoulder straps, the style that cross the chest, or jackets zipped up to the top. The b6 mics saved my ass on many, many days. They seemed less susceptible to clothing noise than the sankins and worked well when my actors delivered very low levels in high noise environments. It was recommended to me by the vendor, Audio Services in Toronto, to go with the -10db version but I opted for the regular ones as my actors were fairly quiet. On the occasions the actors got loud the b6's were totally over saturated. I needed to get the boom over them for the loud bits. Maybe the -10 option would have been a better idea but I'm not convinced they would have faired any better. Both production and Post were happy with the results. I got sound from those mics on extremely hard to mic costumes and feel they are totally worth owning. I am in fact pondering a purchase of another 3 or 4. Maybe 2 more unattenuated and 1 or 2 at -10 to see how they handle high spl's. hope this helps, Graham
  21. I think when the goal is waterproofing a connection sticky side out might be impractical. Best, Graham
