  1. new mexico soundmixer Nice mods to you RnR. Are the front and rear wheel original? They look bigger than mine. I'm very interesting in more info on the bottom wood plate (boom holder) and top boom holder? How does the bottom wood plate attach? More pics appreciated. It looks like you have the top boom/stand holders attached to a removable bracket of some type. I'm trying to decipher this as well. I really like your set-up... I need to do this soon. Many thanks for any more info and pics.
  2. That looks neat. Thanks. I forgot to mention... the meeting will be recorded with video on the ipad. But he knows the mic on the ipad is not good enough, obviously... (and a 788t and 6 lavs is not an option)
  3. Yes I am a pro location sound person. But for this post, I am helping my dad for a project at this work. They want the ability to record conference table meetings to iPad for archival purposes. Right now I'm leaning toward: iRig Pre http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigpre/ with a Crown PCC-170 into it. If the table gets larger, maybe two of them Y'd into the iRig Pre. I have not used the iRig Pre. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. thanks
  4. Soap didn't work. It was just barely not going. I drilled out the boot ever so slightly to make it fit.
  5. Question on the Audio-Technica BP4029 stereo mic, can you run it in M/S mode, only take the mid channel and have the rough equivalent of a short shotgun? (I'm not trying to sub it for a more expensive/better quality shotgun, just understanding the physics some)
  6. Do these connectors look like they will work? or not long enough? http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/10-00123/839-1014-ND/2123078
  7. Thanks!! Have you ordered from them before? legit? I'll take other links if people have them.
  8. ok, I found these for the BDS unit. Mouser cheaper than Digikey or Newark. http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Switchcraft/761K/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtnOp%252bbbqA001mXVWsjex9sARa5%252bMn4Jqc%3d http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/761K/SC1148-ND/241919 http://www.newark.com/switchcraft/761k/connector-dc-power-plug-5a/dp/96F9612?in_merch=Popular%20Products I'd like to find a 90 degree one. Premolded is fine. I found these, but not sure on the depth. (I'd cut these into 2 and re-end the cut end.) Any help is appreciated. http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/10-00121/839-1012-ND/2123076
  9. What is this power system you have here?
  10. Any recommended cable/wire to use? or not to use?
  11. Eric, I think I follow you on a NC*MX series. But these are the XX series XLR's. the boot is made a little different. I worked on it for quite some time the other day. Though I will look at it again when I get home. Many thanks.
  12. I'm getting ready to build mine... I plan to use Mogami 2931 and Neutrik 7-pin XLR connectors (NC7FXX / NC7MXX). I'm having trouble getting the Mogami cable thru the boot of the Neutrik XLR Connector. Very tight fit. But I'm pretty sure I've seen the finished product before with these two items. Any hints, tricks, or suggestions? The last one I built I used Canare MR202-4AT and the Neutricon connectors. But would much rather use the Mogami and XLR if i can get it to fit.
  13. Thanks for the pic, i have not used this Tram mic cage before. might have to splurge and try it. http://www.bhphotovi...Mic_Cage_1.html http://www.bhphotovi...one_Cage_2.html
  14. I can't figure out how to imbed this video, so here's the link. (would like to know how to imbed for the future.) Oregon Mall Shooting Stopped By Licensed Gun Carrier
  15. Has anyone had any real world experience running it off of AA batteries? run time?
  16. Good thought Tom. We were about 20 feet from the security desk we had to check in at to enter. And yes, when checking in, I noticed a lot of the control panels for building alarms, access points, etc. behind the counter. Thanks.
  17. Yes... but any thoughts on the cause to completely cover, at minimum, two blocks (Block 21 and 26). I've done RF all over the place. Military bases, Super Bowls, World Series, etc. Have not seen anything like this. It was solid, no holes at all, at the same level all the way across the entire block.
  18. RTV? is that a certain type of hard silicone? Hacksaw to cut the connector? I like. looks nice.
  19. Has anyone used an Oktava MK012? And if so, for what application and thoughts? They seem inexpensive, but I've heard the name dropped several times lately.
  20. No limited not being related to sound dept, but years ago I saw the following and have never forgotten it. I'll try be nicer If you'll try being smarter.
  21. Last week I was on location in a corporate headquarters computer center. I did scan on both my Lectro's receivers. (211 blk 26, 201 blk 21). Both blocks showed solid rf across the entire block, about halfway up. This occurred in the lobby, outside the main server room. Talent was only a few feet away, so it worked out, but when she moved about 20 feet away between takes I was taking hits. Our next location was the server room, so I was nervous. When we got in there, the blocks were almost completely open, normal for this town. I use these blocks all over town, always scanning, and have never seen anything like this. Any thoughts??? Bag is the two Lectro's, and a 552. I have a Lectro's ifb T2 transmitter, but it was turned off.
  22. Gotcha, I wasn't thinking of a camera with a non-XLR input. Maybe so. I went back and see the camera model now. They'll need to be leveled out of the receivers... I'd feel better with a Beachtek or something in-between to help level it out... but i guess it will work. I hope you can turn off "auto-level" on that camera, or that it at least is not linked for the two channels. (Don't think I've ever hooked up to a camera with only mini on it)
  23. I'm not following you here. You are going to get both a handheld wireless mic path and a lav mic path out of one receiver and use a y-cable to split it into the two channels on the camera??? I don't know how you are going to be able to use both TX's at once with one Rx. Double check your info, maybe I read something wrong. BTW: I grew up in NOLA and go there often. I now live in MS. If you ever need pro sound guys in NOLA, I have a list.
  24. Any suggestions on Lifepo4 batteries/chargers for a bag set-up?
