  2. I think this was discussed in a previous topic. If you'd searched for it you would have seen that.
  3. Mike, The drawers close with almost too much security, and there's a locking switch on the side. I feel like the outside frame is too thin, much thinner than say a pelican case. The one I bought had cracks in it from shipping. I don't know off hand of the interior dimensions, I'll have to measure, but I think it's smaller than the 1550. Typical size of a tool box drawer.
  4. I ended up getting it from a seller on Ebay, It seems Sam's Club and a few other people sell them in stores. But not every location. The only option I could find is with 3 units, 1 with the three small drawers and two units with two drawers. Definitely potential for options but their site was not helpful at all. I'd recommend finding it in store, the one I got had cracks in it from shipping. It's still usable and the seller refunded me, but the packaging does not seem meant for getting kicked around by UPS. More like for sitting on a pallet in big box stores.
  5. Hey Guys, I recently discovered a lightweight plastic modular toolbox that fits perfectly in a magliner jr with a shelf. Which is exactly what I was looking for. $100 http://www.keter.com/products/drawers-7-tool-chest Pros: 2 of the 3 included sections fit under the backstage magliner shelf. Locking Sections are modular and they lock together Lightweight, easy for me to disassemble and throw in the back of my car Includes removable dividers and small parts containers Cons: Plastic, feels a little fisher-pricey. Drawers latch hard and require some muscle to open, which can be an issue considering how light it is, so its not as smooth as a metal tool box. Lightweight, needs to be strapped down to the cart to keep in place. Haven't put it through a long field test, I update once it gets some miles on it.
  6. Now I can swap batteries between my recorder and my old boombox!
  7. Like cos-11s, more often than not the right placement and a bit of transpore is all you need.
  8. Hey guys, I've been researching normal garage tool chests as an alternative to a rack case with drawers to set in my magliner jr cart under the backstage shelf. I just wanted to get some feedback if I'm on a goose chase here, one of the problems I've run into is most tool chests have a locking mechanism that is attached to the top, so the hood must be up to open the drawers. Anyone have experience in this?
  9. Found this odd post on ebay. Any ideas? Couldn't find any info on Sanken's site, thought maybe it was a Japan-only release. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sanken-CS-4-condenser-shotgun-microphone-/111190455362?pt=US_Pro_Audio_Microphones&hash=item19e377b442
  10. Hi, I use a microbook II. But only for playback from a laptop. I just use its outputs for some active speakers, the line input I only use to pump timecode in. So I can't attest for the pres but I'd imagine they're what you'd expect from a cheap I/O. It does provide 48v phantom. So yes you will get signal from your mic to computer no problem, and depending on what you are doing that might be just fine. I use it with Cubase 7 and the only complaint is that if I change any routing I have to restart the system, its not plug n' play per-say. Which is normal, but in a production situation sometimes a little re-routing is needed and it would be nice not to have to restart the computer and the DAW. MOTU has very good drivers and support, so it'll pretty much work with any setup you throw at it.
