  1. Hello, Pierre Blanc from Sonosax will be present at NAB prensenting the new Sonosax SX-R4+ modular concept and accessories and also the wonderful SX-ST and SX-62R. Booth C5047
  2. The modular concept of the R4+ will also be dispayed at NAB2016 on the Sonosax Booth.
  3. Yes Please test the 2XG and the minijack output as it could be interesting for a lot of small cameras!
  4. Well, I think there are some that wouldn't bother to collaborate together and other not... ;-)
  5. It would be good to line up with the camera crew and I bet Teradek will be the new standard. http://teradek.com/collections/bolt#sidekick Some cameras accessories plan to build their TX compatibility based on the Bolt 600. The sidekick is good for a sound man as it covers all 3 TX. Pat
  6. Hello, It looks like Sonosax will be at NAB if you want to speak with Pierre Blanc about the SX-R4+ Pat
  7. Hello Richard, In your daily use, would you need a limiter when using the R4+? Thanks Pat
  8. Ok so we should wait for the announcement I suppose.
  9. (Warning : I'm not a sound engeneer) I was wondering if sound mixer still actually mix today or do they record tracks and mix only for the video village? What I understand is that 15 years back mono delivery was still the standard... so the mixing/recording job was a key part of the sound design. I can uderstand why the tools are changing based on the needs.
  10. Isn't it so that this mostly depends on how poorly the analog mixer is built? And all comes down to cost savings?
  11. Hello Constantin, How do you attach the Tubigrip once cut? Velcro, tape, sewing ... ? Did you make your custom ones? Thanks Pat
  12. In my experience the a7s Xavcs s-log2 is a really nice codec to grade. I heavily graded it and it didn't break. We are really far away from the h264 5DMKII codec.
  13. A new new kid in the block... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1222744-REG/sony_ilce6300_b_alpha_a63000_mirrorless_digital.html Some impressive features for a "cheap" camera. I usually use small cameras (Bmpcc, a7s, 5d...) with a "gunner" wich keeps the formfactor small and helps you to get the necessary stabilisation with your body. I put another battery (audioroots 49wh) with an dummy adaptator for the a7s and a G3 reciever to get the sound from the sound recorder.
  14. I would definitly go wih a second hand Sony A7s (or A7sII if $$$ permits...) They are the new kids on the block! ;-) I would put a 35mm 1.4 Rokinon or the Vario Tessar lens on it and a Zacuto gunner or Enforcer to have it more stable against your shoulder. 6 batteries and 1 128Gb SD card. Happy shooting.
  15. In case you didn't recieve it. The Sononews 01.2016 Pat
  16. I've bought an SMDB and asked to unblock it to go up to 250mW, wich is allowed if you accept to use the legal frequencies in your country and sign a government paper taking responsability if you overpass your rights.
  17. Hello RPSharman, I understand the legal problem but many European contries give the right to use stronger levels than 50 mW depending the frequency used. https://docs.google.com/a/tjockishjartafilm.se/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgnGQulSs_YrdFAwZGZ2LWVjRkRuY0owOEtHcHZqclE#gid=0 From this thread: See you Pat
  18. Hello, Ins't it that you can unlock the SMB/E01 (or SMDB) to enable the 100 and 250mW? I had to sign a agreement with the gov. provided by the (swiss) seller so that he unlock the higher mW values. With the remote I can see that it can switch between 50-100-250mW. Pat
  19. My deepest condolences to you and your family Jeff. Patrick
  20. Hello Erkal, I hope Pierre or Jacques will chim in for the fonctionnalities. I understood that this is an option for some specific applications. I think you can change the type of the whip if you think it will brake (I'm not shure about what type of SMA antenna). On the 3/4 picture you can't see it but the connector is quite far away from any knobs.
  21. Hello, Here a picture of the R4+ with the bigger external Wifi antenna option.
  22. How do you manage 22 persons speaking in front of the camera? Or are they also 22 cameras?
  23. Wise answer Chris. This must be it! Companies don't care if their retail partners are obeying the law.
