  1. Hi everyone, This Saturday I'll be shooting a community Tree Planting event in Mobile, Alabama. Most likely the hours will be 7am - 1pm (the event itself is likely 8am - 12:15pm). I need an audio person primarily for 5 or 6 interviews that I'll be conducting, as well as for capturing audio from the opening and closing ceremonies. Here are a few other details... 1. I'm looking for someone who can run audio through a mixer directly into my Canon C300 Camera 2. Ideally sound could also be recored as WAV or AIFF files as a backup I've shot two similar events thus far, and a boom was all that was used, and they both sound great. This one will be near a highway intersection, so a wireless lav may come in handy as well, depending on how loud traffic is. Payment is Net30, so once I receive your invoice you should receive a check within 30 days. If you are interested please shoot me an email at talmon@exit10.com Thanks, Tanner P.S. I'm also looking for a Production Assistant, primarily to help me carry around my tripod. The rate for the PA is $100, just in case anyone reading this knows of anyone.
  2. Hi everyone, I'll be shooting an instructional video in Atlanta on Thursday, November 8th. It will be two people speaking and performing various instructional activities in front of a train. My wide shot will most likely be very wide, so I'm thinking one lav on each actor, but I'd defer to you. I'll be shooting with a two Canon C300s. Ideally I'd like to run all of the audio into one of the C300s, but get the WAV files at the end of the shoot as well. A time code slate would be appreciated as well. The hours are 7am - 5pm (10 hours) and the rate is $600 flat. I realize it's a very low rate and that I'll probably take a lot of heat for it on this forum, but at the same time I've found some incredible sound guys on this forum so I figured I'd start here. My company will pay by check within 30 days of receipt of invoice. I'm not sure of the exact location, it's looking like it will likely be at an indoor train repair facility somewhere in or around Atlanta. If you're interested please shoot me an email at talmon@exit10.com. Thanks, Tanner
  3. Thanks John! Your reply is extremely helpful. I'm going to show this thread to my producer early this week, as we have several similar shoots in the pipeline along the east coast and it'd be really nice to hire professionals and not have to worry about audio. I've had several replies from my Mandy post with guys saying they use a Zoom H4n to mix, which obviously is a huge red flag. Thanks again for taking the time to write such a well thought out, thorough reply. This forum is great. Best, Tanner
  4. The finished piece will probably only be 3-4 minutes. The interview could take no more than an hour, and although we have 3-4 hours slotted to shoot B-Roll, it's really up to the talent and client when we call it a day. Thanks, Tanner
  5. Thanks guys. I realize the rate is low, but $500 is what the budget is for sound. If anyone is willing to reply, I'd love to know what a reasonable rate would be. Again, it's probably going to be a three hour sit down interview (where only the interviewee needs to be mic'd), followed by three for four hours shooting B Roll of the same guy working at a train station. But for safety lets just call it a ten hour day. I'm not trying to be rude, I'd really like to know so I can relay this info to my producer. Thanks, Tanner
  6. Hi everyone, I'll be shooting portions of a corporate video somewhere between Cincinatti, Ohio and Lexington, Kentucky on Wednesday, October 10th. Here are the details... 1. We will be shooting an interview with a train mechanic for approx. 2 - 4 hours, and then spend a few hours shooting B-roll of the mechanic at a train yard. As of now all he can tell us is that he'll be somewhere between Lexington and Cincinatti on the 10th. The location likely will not be finalized until the 9th. 2. The interview audio is most important. We are not sure if we'll even use the audio recorded during the B-Roll portion, but we want to have it just in case. Obviously a train yard can be quite noisy. 3. We are hoping to shoot the interview indoors somewhere, possibly his hotel room if we are unable to locate any place better. 4. I'll most likely be shooting with two 5D Mark III's, both set to 23.976 frames per second. 5. I need someone with their own gear (mixer, mic(s), mic stands, cables, etc.) 6. Ideally at the end of the day you could provide me with .WAV or .AIFF audio files that are 48KHz/24Bits. My plan for Post is to sync the interview with PluralEyes, and if possible, the Train Yard Audio. 7. The rate we can offer is a $500 flat fee. There is no additional kit rental. If you are interested please shoot me an email at talmon@exit10.com If possible, please include the following... 1. A list of credits 2. What gear you would use 3. Any demo's you may have of any of your work (I realize this is tough to do with sound) Thank you for your time, Tanner Almon
