  1. I'm surprised they didn't call for Omnidimentional mics!!! SW
  2. I've had problems with the C300 being the master before, or just jamming the camera without using a continuous TC feed.. I always send TC to that camera now. I'm using a TC Buddy system and just picked up a BETSO SBOX-1 for the 2nd camera. I'm waiting for the TC Buddy mini RX units to roll out. They can't come soon enough!!! Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  3. Good job. Came up as an ad on Youtube!!! Steve Wytas www.audio911.com

  5. I might need a sound mixer to cover me in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire on Apr. 28-29. The job is not 100%, but I know that I can't cover it if it happens on those days. 1 or 2 Canon 5D cameras, client provided G3 WL camera hops. Need to record boom and 1 WL lav to WAV files, no timecode needed (they are using Plural Eyes). Some interviews, some classroom student & teacher interaction. Anybody local to that area? Contact me through the website: http://www.audio911.com/contact-us/ Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  6. Maybe sell the DR680 and get the new DSLR DR-60 rig from Tascam... http://tascam.com/product/dr-60d/ Steve Wytas www.audio911.com

  8. The Zoom H66 will rule the world!!!!! Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  9. On a shoot today the DP had a Canon 5D MkII. Audio was sent wireless to camera via a Sennheiser EW100 G3. Good audio levels were showing up on the audio screen of the 5D, but audio was not recorded onto the CF card. Picture was fine. Internal camera mic worked as well. No problems with the hop or cables, and the meters were reading good input level on the camera. Super strange... Anybody run into this problem in the field? BTW, audio was captured on the SD664 with ease!!! Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  10. I actually have a MAC IIcx that had a Sound Tools (pre-Protools) system on it, filled with cement that I use for a doorstop for my shed!!! My Fostex PD4 is in my garage somewhere too!! Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  11. New Timecode Buddy product!!! Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  12. I always have Velcro "adapters" with me. Basically, make a double sided soft side piece, and a double sided rough side piece and keep them in your kit... Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  13. It would be nice if it recorded MP3 files as well... Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  14. I use the dual Blackmagic monitors. Easy to tweek from a laptop. I rack mounted mine with this from B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/702894-REG/Delvcam_ULCD_1_ULCD_1_Adjustable_Depth_LCD.html I have VESA to SPUD attached to the rack mount so it can go on any piece of lighting/grip gear... 15. Allen Heath unit looks good. No clock or timecode facilities though... Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  16. Yikes!!! Too neat!!!! Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  17. I'm considering trying out a Sennheiser 300 IEM for stereo camera hops on set. Looks like the 1/2 rack TX unit will run off of 12V. The RX units are pretty small, and can be fitted with velcro on the back to stick onto a camera. I'll need to fabricate a 1/8" lockable connector to dual XLR males for each RX unit. The antenna can be extended with a short 50 Ohm BNC, so it doesn't sit at the bottom of the bag... Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  18. I have the Blackmagic Dual HD monitors. They look good and you can see A&B cameras. +1 on the Gawkers hanging around though.... Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  19. I saw on the Clearcom website units that look like they are made by Lectrosonics for Clearcom. Has anybody used the Clearcom system and are they compatible with each other? http://www.clearcom.com/product/wireless/ifb-wireless/ Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  20. What will Sound Devices do to improve the current 664 mixer recorder? I feel that the SD PIX line of video recorders will become a new standard for video capture, so why not have an audio mixer/recorder output SDI audio? Hmmm, maybe turn the Word Clock output into an SDI output? Probably a hardware limitation on the current 664, but the 664 MKII??? Any thoughts on SDI becoming the new multitrack output on audio mixers to PIX type recorders? Just add a BlackMagic Designs SDI to AES mini converter and you have 16 channels of audio on a single SDI cable... Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  21. Send them a link to my demo reel: Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
  22. I remember the argument going from NAGRA to DAT. "You'll end up losing those little tapes!!!" Now, the entire production is on those "little" SD, or CF, or P2 cards... Roll with the changes! Steve Wytas www.audio911.com
