  1. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/aaron-rodgers-thinks-randall-cobb-being-mic-ed-up-punctured-lung-142842552.html Very unfortunate, I wonder if the mic pack came loose and migrated to a dangerous spot.
  2. Getting the mic physically away from the gortex, ie hiding it in a hat would be your best bet. Also maybe trying to get the actor to not move much while he/she's delivering lines.
  3. Excellent Idea! And if you get caught in the rain, you have a camping tent right at your disposal.
  4. I'm an applicant waiting for the test. Hopefully it will come about soon.
  5. "Wildlife documentary crew is looking for its last member--a talented sound mixer who would be up for an incredibly adventurous, as well as logistically challenging, shoot in Bolivia for three weeks during August 2015.Ideally this crew member would bring their own equipment (lavs, boom, mixer, shotgun mic), however we can be flexible on this if we find the right person. All expenses would be paid, including a roundtrip plane flight, visa fees, vaccinations, and room & board. Unfortunately, this is an unpaid shoot, as we are working with an extremely low budget to carry out this project. However, for those who are looking to gain experience with extreme, run and gun shooting scenarios (following pumas through the Amazon, riding with the Bolivian police force on wildlife trafficking busts, etc.), this may be the project for you.To be considered for this position, please send your resume, examples of your audio work, and why you're perfect for the job." You can get eaten by a puma in bolivia but sorry no pay.
  6. Thanks everybody, for now 32 gigs seems to be the consensus.
  7. Hello all! I’ve been lurking on here for a while and just want to introduce myself and say a big thank you to everyone for providing such a great resource for me and others like me to help learn and grow our craft. The search function on this site has become one of my best friends over the many months. I’m going to be upgrading my recorder soon (a 633) and I was researching what memory cards to purchase for it and it made me think about file sizes. The most I’ve ever filled up in a day for my little 702t was a bit over 4 gigs. I understand 16gigs would probably cover me for most stuff, but I’m just curious about you guys. What’s the biggest size you’ve ever had to unload after a day? P.S. If any veteran New York mixers are in need of a 3rd or a boomer, let me know!
