Awesome. Thoose FPV items seems really cheap tbh. Are they frequently agile? If you would only run one cam. Could you in theory transmit with the FPV antenna from video village to both the boomop and a FPV monitor at the cart?

Yes you can! All fpv system was my previous setup for my bigger cart, but it’s because it’s staticky though so i moved on to using hollyland for video village playback for a better audio playback for clients on my g3 iems as I feed them the return Audio feed from my video monitor.  For the staticky none critical use fpv system I pass it to my boom ops for them not to bug the ACs or camera departments monitor to much 😅

Nice watch! How do you transmit to it?

it’s an fpv tx being diy where the AV cables are soldered to the pcb board of the AV to sdi converter, its powered from via USB for the converter but you need to have a buck converter that converts 5v to 12v for the tx which I place it inside the converter box. It’s mainly for my boom Operators, where I get the feed trough one of my many wireless system eg: paralinx, R2teck it hollyland depending on my mood for the project 😂 and use the sdi tru from my monitor to a decimator that splits the screen and from there, sends the feed out to my fpv tx sdi input

  3. Bored and little no job for the pass   few months! Rejoining the club of audio bag horing. I can post more audio porn pictures if you like 😂😂 starting to doubt that I’ll be able to move all of these equipments and more via check in luggage from Singapore to Canada when we migrate this October 😅20D32A14-DD56-4944-861E-F0C197E5BAFD.jpeg1CC10852-A9DB-4AAB-A5F4-4BB2F48F373D.jpegE2E609E9-D47C-44E4-8C7F-9BD7AC8D3503.jpeg22A3FC60-AA17-4363-985A-55F629B62948.jpeg48D813D8-F1CE-4DF2-89D8-1D6F114A3CAC.jpeg20D32A14-DD56-4944-861E-F0C197E5BAFD.jpeg

  4. no problems here. had these modded babies for more then a year now. started with sen g2, and in the end escalated to my sony uwp's. g2 is made into an iems for the boom operator, scratch track and director, attached to an

sma connect to lectro sna 600 when needed more stability and range in rf signals.

while sony uwps (30mw) are connected to a psc multi sma- shure ua830 rf amp on 10 db- shure 1/2 wave omni directional antennas and i must say this revolution has impressed tons of non believers and also dealers here in singapore. from a test that we did recently with my system walk in the park range would cover 200 meters without any problems like sonic deterioration and drop outs.  the rf signal meters stays within 3-2 bars within  the range mention above. considering for such a cheap option it does an amazing job. combined with my psc long periodic antenna the range went close to 400 meters of course all within line of sight.

while just last week me, another sound dude stanley, and one of the owner of xn3, bryan (the only distributors of wisycom here in asia) had a test with my system combining this

an rf amp from wisy with my sony system + psc + BAA rf amp on 15 db no over modulation + 1/2 wav antenna just to see how well it performs and that one really blew me, stan and bryan away. my bag was on the second floor of the building inside the shop where there are barriers of wooden, concrete, glass and cemented walls. i went all over the second floor , to the toilet where i went for a pit stop to go wee wee, after flushing went down to the 1st floor out door parking lot, then to the main road, then went on over to basement 1 where its another parking lot...the results were jen jen jeng... no drop outs signal stayed on 3-2 bars rock solid with no sonic loss..system overkill the odds especially in a high traffic taxi rf environment where they the cabs are using the 500 mhz bandwidth here... hahah.. no words could justify our reactions because we were beyond speechless...the only thing that was on my head after all of that was this..

    ...lol!!

  5. Just found this document from Ian Sands where he explains with pictures a similar mod

hey guys just got back to singapore 2 days ago. nearly forgot about  this post. EFKsound, wow that looks neat, well i do know that some of the SMA connectors doesn't necessarily need to be grounded. For the SMA connector that I purchased there's a shield and coxail needed to be attach so I soldered  (like in the picture)

    1. the coxial to the PCB board

    2. the shield to one of the battery compartments

ooo not to forget make sure the cable is 50 ohms and do leave heat shrinks where the soldered connections are made. now its time to enjoy your modified G2 and G3 with mr. mi "YAGI" antennas.

i cannot agree more that it's not the end of all solution by having these modifications. but in my honest opinion it allowed me to venture more then being limited to the factory built tx and rx.

Now what im currently working on is how to hack my TX instead of shooting 30mw it shoots 100mw. My friend was telling me the concept is the same as a TX/RX remote control where there's transistor that needs to be change in order to do so and there will be increase in the voltage to compensate for the power increase ... hmmmm anyone has any leads? cause im seriously keen on operating my G2s as a guine pig again..hihihihi

  6. geez guys, that would mean that i would be the first person in the world who had tried this and succeed. been using the g2 and sony uwp installed with an sma connector nearly a year now and it hasn't failed me once.

oooo also tried it with the RF multi SMA combined with a shure active antenna and jolly me  the range it self is amazingly astonishing for such a cheap system. my modded system is more the enough for me especially on use for TV drama, TVC, ENG, and studio shoots that im not even planing to upgrade my wireless system no more.

here are some pictures of my modded system:

ooo before i forget i have to thank eric toline for giving me a tip on grounding the g2 system and also some of my friends who are RF and satellite engineers back home that made this project possible

  7. HI everyone,

hope that you guys could help another sound brother in need. has anyone encountered the black screen of death before on their SD 664? Here's 2 videos from youtube that i just posted awhile ago for reference:

  9. have had lesser problem's with RF inter-modulation problems since I purchased your app! hoping that in the future that you guys will be able to develop a spectrum analyzer  RF app for the iphone. keep on the great job guys. cheers!

  10. just asking if anyone worked with an panasonic AG-AF 102 before with a 664 sd + time code buddy. wondering if its possible to do a rec run on the camera via tc out from 664 to time code buddy master and from tc buddy slave out to the AF 102 camera tc in. Because I had people telling me that the camera it self can't record if the tc cable is still attached so it will only allow tc on free run mode. just curios if its possible though.
