  1. Ah ok that makes sense, thanks for letting me know. A wideband tx in the future would definitely be a good product to match this receiver though! Cheers.
  2. Any idea if the trx900cl will be updated to be wideband to match the rx200?
  3. Just an update on this from me. We've now had two test days with the f65. It's a big camera for sure! The fan does seem noisy compared with an alexa, although not too worrying as still much quieter than a film camera. Will see how that changes in hot interior scenes... The timecode input is on the recording deck that attaches to the back. It is a bnc. We've attached an ambient sync box as don't trust it to hold time on its own but the Sony rep said it would. Having left it without the box on for a while I think it would prob be fine but better safe than sorry. One interesting point is that post said the sound and picture rushes were all consistently 1 frame out of sync. The Sony rep said that was correct and is to do with information processing time. The camera guys set the camera time to 1 frame forward and post seem happy that has sorted it. Simple menu system and everything is pretty normal and straight forward to use. If the fan noise doesn't turn out to be too bad then it seems like a nice camera to work with, so long as its not me heaving it about all day
  4. Thanks Chris. I believe it has Bnc in for the timecode. Is that correct? Did you jam and leave it running on internal time or leave a lockit attached? Appreciate your help!
  5. Starting a feature with this camera end of the month. Anyone have any advice with regards timecode etc? We have some test days coming up but would be good to go into them with some idea of how it operates so far thinking Deneke sync box on the camera as experience says Sony is normally no good at holding time. Shame we're not using alexa...
  6. Wow, the timecode buddy is enormous! I kinda assumed it would be a much more user friendly size than that! Seems crazy seeing as how most audio transmitter and receivers are now much smaller than that…
  7. This should be zaxcom's motto...
  8. Does anyone know if the transmitters can be powered externally? Thinking of using these for a camera hope on a job with a sony cam and the receiver would slot in nice and neatly!
  9. Thanks for the update Larry. Still top of my list at the mo sure you guys will get it sorted for us!
  10. This is disappointing to hear as these were going to be my next update for my talent mics…Please keep us updated Larry! I used the system as a camera hop last year and it was rock solid…much more so than my 2020's on ch69. Still love the 2020's tho…just a shame they cant be retuned to the new freq's...
  11. Anyone know when this might be hitting the uk? I'd love to test it out but my dealer here was told within the week and that was a month or so ago... Cheers!
  12. Oh... There goes that plan then
  13. What about these? http://www.dyson.co.uk/store/productFan.asp?product=AM03-WHITESIL
  14. Just had a quick question: what size card will it ship with and does it allow a folder structure for different days/shoots etc. Thanks!
  15. Working with EQ mostly, and a lot of chopping bits around. For a hug I would often automate a bass cut to quickly chop out the bass smash, or jump to another track for that moment if available. Grabbing a bit of clean atmos or whatever from another part of the same scene to cover up noises. Copy and paste or the lovely pen tool at sample level for removing pops, clicks and scratches. Usually adding a nice atmos track can bring life into a scene that was only recorded on radio mics and help hide stuff.
  16. Thanks, thats pretty much the way I was hoping to work for a lot of 5D shoots etc too, sounds like a good system! :-)
  17. I worked in Zurich a while back with channel 69. Was in a studio though so didnt have too hard a time...
  18. My point wasn't really that one way is good and one is bad, just that it seems silly not to let the user choose this, as you have said not all shoots use scene and take. At the end of the day it is just another file like any computer file, why not allow us to choose the name and if a replica occurs then stick an A or .1 at the end... On shoots without a slate I normally name the file after the location we are in or the person we are interviewing/following, this makes things so much easier to sort through later on.
  19. This is interesting... So you don't need to match the file name up? For example if you want to sync sc57 t13 you just point it to the folders containing the video and audio and it will do it automatically? This is one thing I can't quite understand with the zaxcom numbering system. It seems ridiculous to use a file number that has no relation to the scene or take, why not have the option of allowing this? I know many production companies love it when I hand in rushes named with scene and take as they can find the files they want instantly, straight off the flash card if they wanted. Out of interest does this timecode sync work with timecode on an audio track? For example with a 5d shoot?
  20. Thank you all for the suggestions. Yep the F3 is a terrible design, the camera folks hate the viewfinder right in the middle. I think they have a similar shoulder mount to the one in your pic so that should help with mounting. Thankfully I think the 2nd camera is mainly to go off and do GV's etc, although I am sure it will end up covering the main stuff as well at some point. We have a day coming up to test the kit so will have a look at the timecode then, not encouraging to hear you had problems though…maybe the constant jamming from the qrx and erx will help in this case? Ill let you know how it goes!
  21. Thanks Jim, they do look much better! Jack, I'm not quite sure what you mean? As I understand it record run with auto load would mean that the TRX would drop into record everytime the camera rolls, it would then stop recording when the camera stops. Is that not correct? However the issue now is that they want TOD timecode, which will obviously be running continuously so will no longer control the auto load function in the TRX. The timecode will all still match but the files wont be broken down into the same segments as the camera files. Does that make sense? Ill be sure to take some time with Nomad if I get it in time, and no worries, I will be mainly using my SQN on this shoot, Nomad will be in use only if I get time to play with it :-)
