  1. Not sure about your specific problem but I've used WD-40 to make mine like brand new. Takes a few applications and a bit of elbow grease.
  2. I had a similar problem with a fader on my Command 8. Opening the unit and reseating the faders plug into the board did the trick YMMV
  3. I tend to split the difference on close ups so the camera perspective doesn't dramatically change, unless there is some strong reason not to.
  4. I had no intentions of going analog on my cart build, but the opportunity came up to pick up a well cared for AD 145 so I took it. Hoping someone can help me understand the gain staging as it seems a bit unusual. The channel faders go to 0, and the master faders go to +10. What I've noticed is I have to lower the channel fader about 20dB to match the PFL level. Shouldn't they be the same with the fader at 0? i suppose this isn't a problem because I have plenty of gain available on the recorder, but would love to understand the relationship.

  6. I recently asked a DIT the same question, they said it will work.
  7. I've read that apple will allow royalty free usage if they are used in the proper context. Make sure the sound the phone is making matches the intended function of that sound, and make sure the phone is an iPhone. Not sure if you need written permission
  8. Was hoping for a helicopter type thing.
  9. Would it be possible to run one of these SNA with 72mhz antennas?
  10. It's very study when the wheels face front and are locked, not worried about any tippage. In the photo the wheels are facing back and not locked
  11. Finally getting close to finishing up my new cart. It started out as a Magliner water cooler bottle cart. I flipped the nose and added 4" locking casters to the front. Removed a shelf to make room for the rack case and have repurposed the rack case lids as work surfaces. The front lid can be secured to the top of the case with window latches. Added four QuickFists, three for boom poles and one for an old pole repurposed as an antenna mast. Rack contains an AC power conditioner, a 3u and 2u drawer. The drawers didn't have latches, so I added some magnetic cabinet latches and hey work great. LED light strips under each shelf, and one strip on the top of the bag. Would like to add a couple more strips inside the drawers, the tungsten nightlight bulbs in the power conditioner is seriously testing my OCD. Oh yes, and a cup holder. Last step is to figure some kind of cart power solution. Extremely happy with the build so far. Total cost around $400.
  12. When I do audio post, I always roll off the dialogue around 12k, sometimes lower. 5ms = about a quarter frame of latency. I would call both of these non-issues.
