  2. I know the 41s has a built in low cut for close miced speech. Is it suitable for booming or is the cut too much and sound thin from a distance?

  8. I have the older softie kit with the round rubber mount. Looking to pick up a shockmount for a small hyper I plan on buying. I've been looking at the Rycote invision mount and wondering if i can also use it with my softie for shotgun use. I see that Rycote also had a separate lyre softie mount ( which seems more expensive) but am having trouble telling the difference between them. are they basically interchangeable for boom use with or without a softie?
  9. I want to keep Backup AA batteries in my Fostex fr2 incase my BDS system fails. since these batteries will rarely if ever actually be used should I go alkaline, lithium or NiMH?

  12. Brand new kit. Haven't even brought it out yet Sennheiser 416 AT 815b ( practically free) EV RE50b 2 - Countryman B3's Sennheiser ME2
  13. Assembling my first bag, tired of turning down work ( I'm a post guy ) So far bag consists of Wendt x5 Fostex fr2 w/ timecode card 2 Sennheiser g3 Sennheiser 416 Remote audio BDSv4 Batteries for Broadcast NP-1 So here's the question... The Fostex FR2 will only accept 12vDC. I am building a voltage regulator but not sure where to put it. I can put it post BDS to only supply 12v to the Fostex and 14.3 to the x5 and wireless, or put it pre BDS and supply 12v to everything. Thinking regulating the whole thing might give me a little extra battery life but think feeding the x5 14.3 might improve the headroom. Thoughts?
