  1. Thank you Bob ! A few years back we used a 81i on a Harp. It sounded amazing. But for some reason the 81's sell for a lot more on the used market (they are 100 less brand new) So we were able to get the 82i for a great price. It has not disappointed either.
  2. "So you are using a KMR82 on instruments? The long one? Which instruments specifically?" Mandoiln & Banjo
  3. I have the operating instructions in PDF and it does not mention what is on and off. Just the ability to make the switch. The mic has been purchased used and will not move with a paper clip or a jewelers wrench. No indications that is has been dropped it looks in very fine shape. We are under the assumption that down is off. This is a very fine mike to use on acoustic instruments. We are actually looking for another used one. It turns out that pulling the guts out is not that big of deal. And I used a paring knife to make the switch. We were able to inspect everything to make sure no old foam had fell inside. I feel this board is full of enormous intelligence that is why I came here. Those switches are a bitch to say the least
  4. I am currently working with a KMR82i. I can only get the slide switches to work after I remove the 3 screws and pull the guts out. Because this is the case I only want to open it once. Can anyone tell me what the "Off" position is on both slide switches? I am using this on acoustic instruments and do not need those functions. Thanks to all in advance.
  5. Can someone explain in layman's terms how the input compressor and the track compressor work and relate to each other? I see you have the option of enabling the compressor but then you have settings for track compressor and input compressor (not to worried about output compressor yet). Is there anyway just to have one of them enabled? For what I use the nomad for I just need the track compressor and i'm also trying to understand how they relate to each other. Thanks in advance
  6. If money is not a issue I would recommend the DPA 4011C, I own 2 of them, they are so small and light weight perfect for XY ORTF or what ever you like, they also great all around mics for boom, vocals and instruments
  7. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/joey-covington-jefferson-airplane-drummer-dead-at-67-20130605 Joey Covington, a drummer who played with Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, died yesterday in a car accident in Palm Springs, California. He was 67. According to a local CBS news station, Covington's sedan slammed into a wall on the side of the road, shutting down traffic for several hours. Police reported that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene following attempts to revive him. He was the only passenger. A self-taught drummer, Covington helped found Hot Tuna in 1969 with Jefferson Airplane members Jack Casady, Jorma Kaukonen and Paul Kantner while Airplane singer Grace Slick was recovering from surgery. That same year, he provided percussion for Jefferson Airplane's Volunteers album; he took over full-time drumming duties in 1970 when Spencer Dryden quit the group. Covington later played on the albums Bark, for which he co-wrote "Pretty as You Feel," and Long John Silver, though he quit halfway through the recording sessions. In 1976, he co-wrote Jefferson Starship's "With Your Love," a single that peaked at No. 12 on the charts.
  8. I have a question about inputs 7- 10. (Ret 1/2 & 3/4) I understand that pressing "SETUP" and then "COM" or "SLT" will get you to where you can change the gain on tracks 7-10. One of my home screen selections shows me input 7 - 10 with what appears to be a green fader slider over them. Pressing in the menu button toggles me between these green sliders, but when I move these faders there is no change in audio input? How can I 'enable' these green sliders to change input gain ? Thanks in advance...
  9. Does a stereo mic count? Here we have a CMXY4V in front of the group. I am new here and having trouble getting the code button working so here is the link. http://snd.sc/YLIOhD
