I've just noticed this myself when doing tests using my Mixpre-10 ii and MCR54 (screenshots attached). I've now added Betso Bowties to the outer of my ORCA 280 bag which has reduced the effect (although not completely eliminated as the bag is very small).

I'm using a Panamic Maxi on a job at the moment and at certain lengths of extension it 'clunks', especially when paddling between two people 🤦‍♂️. Not sure how old the pole is but it looks fairly new condition.
