  1. I'm Also a happy user of the 32Mhz version. And must ad a +1 for the battery life of the TX. @Erol, I was wondering if you could share some info on the status of the products shown on IBC2013? Aside from a video posted on this forum I couldn't find any info on the progression/availability. All the best, Lucas
  2. Hi Simon, I have an Audio Wireless set myself, the 32Mhz version. So far I have positive experiences with the product and the manufacturer service ( on the one time I had a minor Issue). For power I feed the RX from my battery distro and I have a single battery TX. On long days I have to replace the battery maybe once. Their website seems a bit behind, I saw a video about some of their new products on the ibc2013, But so far there is no mentioning of it on their website. I'm curious what they are up to... I think some of the UK dealers have some deals on their sets I suppose they can help you familiarize with the product. If there is anything more specific you'd like to know you can send me a PM. All the best, Lucas
  3. While strawling a little in a hardware store I found out by accident that knitting needle cases(they are actually tubes) work well too. They are the same ones sennheiser supplies with their mics, at least with my 8060. They work well with my other neumann mics too. 22mm is a good width for most mics. for example see: http://www.hobbydoos.nl/winkel/producten/haaknaaldenkoker.asp I put a bit of foam rubber in the bottom and cut of the the other part until it locks the mic well.
  4. A few weeks ago I got the Stingray with the 633. My first impressions are really positive. Beforehand I was a bit worried that due to the size(tallness), the bag would be in the way when walking, but this is not the case. It fits very well around my 'athlete trapped in a writers body' belly with the petrol harness. The zippers, storage, handles and general layout of the bag works very well for me. Good job! There is only one (minor) thing I have trouble understanding the benefits behind, and that is the rain cover. Maybe this is due to the fact that I come from a petrol bag that has one half the size... We all once have asked ourselves the question, if size does matter, and I'm sure K-tek has thought about this too... With velcro the cover can be removed entirely which in most cases is the way i'll use it. In case of rain it can be reattached if needed with plenty of space to get you hand under it to still play with the knobs. But here is my thing, I also like to protect/seal my bag with the cover in case i'm not working or traveling to protect it from dust, sand, rain and other dangerous substances alike. In this case I want the handles out but the cover closed. And this is were I have not yet found the benefits of such a large cover. There is a way to close it, but in that scenario one of the handles is blocked too. I've attached pictures to illustrate my point. It might be personal taste and I think with a bit of diy/sewing here and there it is easily customizable. If others have found better solutions to this 'problem' I'd love to hear it. All the best, Lucas
  5. I use a Audioroot distribution box with hirose connectors and voltage display with a NP1 battery. http://www.audioroot.fr/product/vmdbox-hrs/ My impression is that it's a solid light box with a good safety lock on the switch. Reasonably priced (in europe) too. The more advanced models give you a lot of extra info on battery cycles etc. But since I already had my NP1s for me personally it wasn't of much use.

I am not a lectro user, so I couldn't comment on that. But I think the post above sums it up quite well. To throw in a cliche: Try them if you have the chance.

I've rented them recently for a test/project. My experience with the set was positive. I'd recommend using UR1Mini transmitter, it's the same as the UR1 but lighter. Battery life was quite good and I liked the range and sound. Not to forget they have frequency scan and 80Mhz... If you have the opportunity to rent them, give it a go.
  8. The Ambient ATE capsule is made by MBHO. I have no direct experience with the ATE, but I do have MBHO 604 mic with the figure 8 capsule. The mic itself has some (low) self noise but not much. I did some testing recently with a MS setup and when flipping the fase of the double '8' the noise seemed hardly there. It would be interesting to compare the ATE and MBHO and see/hear if there is any difference.
