  1. You should take a look at the manual in regards to pins and logic. GPIO doesn't have any TC running through it. Only C.Link is capable of that. The logic (high/low) for 'stop' on the output is in a menu on the 788t for the Assign: LOGIC OUT pin. For TC issues, I had a similar problem on my cart linking the lemo for tc output and input. Never figured that out (nor did I try to). So I'd certainly like to see someone chime in on the proper way to wire a TC cable with in/out on the same line. As for soldering, you should be putting the component and its leads from the other side of the board, and then soldering the leads to the side that you're currently using. It's cleaner and you'll get better solder joints.
  2. My RA one has peeled back as well but has been holding up well with some gaff tape for a few years now.

  4. Well, is anyone importing their CSV's from their recorder into Movie-Slate at the end of each day? I've seen the option but I've never actually done it.
  5. Seems reasonable, but then you have to start beginning development on how to protect all the material being put on the web!
  6. The thing is it heavily utilizes Apple's iBook authoring tool. Much of the book relies on the integration of images, interactive image galleries, and demo videos. I'm not sure it would be as powerful conveying info in a hardcopy version... especially when explaining the mic'ing techniques.
  7. Did you watch the YouTube video in the original post? It obviously shows different wiring techniques when hiding lavs. I own this book. Even though most of us here probably use the same techniques in the book, there are probably some neat little tidbits you'll pick up. I have experience... maybe not 30 years like some people here, but man do I love reading sound books, even if it's stuff I already know about.
  8. If a site is on godaddy.com you're just asking for those scripts to be inserted. Plus, godaddy is a very evil company anyway. A lot of the times it's hacked via Wordpress or a plugin.
  9. Honestly it isn't any different than anyone else's antenna array. It's just a mic bar with three antennas on it.
  10. I've been getting asked a lot about what my antennas are/do, almost to the point where I should stick a sign on my antenna mast saying, "These are RF antennas for my wireless." I run a helical, a dipole and a sharkfin up there so I can see why people would show their curiosity to my antenna setup. Anyone else get this a lot, or have some witty replies?
  11. Did you reset your network settings on the iDevice?
  12. Isn't the USB 3.0 still double the size of a thunderbolt connector?
  13. Thanks for the update Richard. I've been waiting since the summer for more info on the product line update. I was told to keep my eyes open at IBC, but I didn't hear or see anything new. I was wondering if the idea got abandoned altogether. I'm looking forward to integrating the TC Buddy system next year.
  14. I haven't been able to find any info on rain slate covers other than the Modular 51 one ($50). I'm either looking for a DIY way or perhaps an alternate design. Options are always good! Just wondering how some of you protect your slates in the rain. I've seen my tc display lose some segments but fixes it self when it dries. I just want to prevent any damage when we're out in the rain.
  15. PLL means you have to send it into the mothership. From my experience the frequencies at the very end of your block will work.. Not too sure with yours though.
  16. Just wanted to update on this issue just in case someone has it in the future. I'm not sure why this had anything to do with the issue, but I receive Facetime calls on both my Macbook Pro and on my iPhone. All I did was turn off Facetime on my MBP (located in Facetime preferences) and turned it back on. Once I hit the switch back to on, I received a flood of unread notifications from JWSound. I can now receive notifications regularly. I'm curious to see how Facetime had an effect on how notifications operate, but it may have somehow reset some notification settings. *shrug*
  17. Shhhh.. the firmware department is working on the 664. But seriously, we've been asking for 'tougher' track arming and disarming on the CL-9 and a linear response on the trim knobs for months now...
  18. I'm running an iPad 1 on the cart... a little too big for use with CL-WiFi. I'm considering just running CL-WiFi on my iPhone and run an iPad Mini with MovieSlate. iPad Mini is overpriced though.. doesn't even have a retina display.
  19. I believe the word you're looking for is placket.
  20. Do they have the adjustable magnets on them though?
  21. That's what I thought. Now I have no regrets about the Shure HA-8089 I just bought.
  22. It's been a while since I took my RF class in college, but how is this any different than a helical antenna?
