It seems Lectrosonics has stopped making the MCA-Tpower cable, which allows using the 15V power selection to drive a 12T microphone (like a CMC4). Other than the fairly long 48P-12T barrel adapters and the Ambient Phantomizer cable ($176!?), does anyone have any other suggestions for how to make this happen? I already have Gary at Trew Atlanta building something smaller for me, but I was hoping to get that Lectro cable. I guess I haven’t been active here in so long I can’t post to the WTB forum, but if anyone has an MCA-Tpower cable for sale, I’d love to buy it. Thanks!

Hi everyone. I'm just finishing up as a third for a Broken Lizards (BeerFest, Super Troopers) production and am looking for the next gig. I've day played for Tom Stasinis (Mixer on Entourage and 2'nd Unit Bones) and Buck Robinson, thirded for Jacob Goldstein on My Boys, and have spent a couple of shoots as Tim Cooney's third (so you KNOW I'm patient and easy going - as I'm sure Tim would attest). I own a full film kit and am always happy to provide add'l gear if/when needed. At any rate, I know it's slow, but figured it couldn't hurt to throw it out there. Thanks! -Hunter Moore The Valley

My limited experience with my setup is this: I have some BNC to Cat5 BalUns that allow me to run Cat5 between my batwings and receivers, rather than trying to hassle with RG8. I don't know the exact measurements, but in real world use I seem to get about the same signal loss over a 100' run as with the RG8, but the cable takes up about a third of the space and weighs next to nothing in comparison. Some of the mixers I assist have been skeptical at first, but I've provided them with good signal...and that's what really counts, right? -Hunter
