  1. Hi Miles Thanks for the links and reply. I sent you a couple of PMs but probably you are not checking your messages. What kind of RF issues are there in Norway ? Do you need a license to operate Radios in Norway ? Thanks !
  2. Could any Norwegian mixers or mixers operating around there point me to rental shops/options ? I am about to work on a shoot there and would like to know where I could rent additional recorders and mics if needed. Thanks !
  3. A smaller unit and reference audio and I would be instantaneously sold !!

    Cantar...

Great article and a nice read. Cheers Tim
  6. Hey Michael Haven't tried these yet. Got pouches and not thinking of getting new ones any time soon. Looks like a sturdy design and a small enough company to be flexible in custom orders. If any one takes the plunge please let do let us know.
  7. Bumped into this cool manufacturer today. Interesting product range and uber cool prices for wireless ( belt ) packs. http://www.wirelessmicbelts.com/
  8. Bummer ! Tanks for shedding some light Vincent. The little mixer was looking far more promising on the video. Was intrigued by the OLED display and tuck away knobs ...
  9. Condense and to the point Some fantastic new products that I was not aware of from Audio Developments !! http://vimeopro.com/...-tv-at-ibc-2012
  10. Greetings to all Haven't checked this thread for some time. Glad that you found the video useful. Not anything fancy but a nice way to sum up things and a clever way of putting them together. Enjoy !
  11. LOL Made my day Even if Jon wins, Glenn will still have the ability to re-transmit and re-record the duel using Zaxcom's next special product abilities, hidden in his right pocket .
  12. Greetings Did a search on the topic's subject and also searched on just 744T but no luck. Remember reading a topic about it but can't find it. Looking for the type of internal battery and also life span. Remember that there was a url for how to replace it in the recorder too. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Recording Atmos At Edinburgh's Fringe Festival Thanks for the T! Larry Aris
  14. Once had the chance to record with an Earthworks overhead stereo setup. Impressive results and imho much cleaner sound than an MK41 which is perfect when positioned close to the opera singer. DPA also offers an excellent choice of mics. I own Schoeps ccms by the way. Have Fun
  15. Any reports from the 8 channel modded boards from the field ??
  16. Hi Pat Thanks for putting time in my question. I didn't mention that I am using the "Ambient Quicklok" on top of the "TogLoc". Is it possible that this could cause an issue ? Been using the QuickLok for some years now on other poles and didn't come up to any issues. What I meant by threading, is that the cable would exit the TogLoc side whole and then secure between the 2 additional holes offered on the top section of the pole. I do not have a clear picture of the upper section in my head and the pole is not in my HQ any more. If you 'll find some time could you please upload a couple of pics ? Thanks
  17. After not so much use, the upper section of the Loon pole I am using started getting so wobbly that my boom op could not swing anymore. In a rushed attempt to fix the wobbly part between exterior takes, the upper section finally got stuck in the twisting collars and I was unable to get it out even after the shoot and sent it back to the dealer I bought it from to see what he can do. I noticed that the upper cable part was never "threaded" like it is on K-Tek poles, making the cable to exit on the side and therefore leave on of the upper holes unused. According to the way K-Tek pole cables are threaded, the cable passes through the side openings of the section just before the screw, which stabilizes the cable and gives a sturdy lock to the lower section of the thread with the pole. Can anyone shed any light on this one ? Regarding Loons, is the cable on the upper section passed through both sides on the one you are using ?? Thanks Aris

    Help !!!

Had to crash and about to start packing up for say 3 of the shoot. Thanks for all the great input on a question that sounds a bit daft to say the least. COS-11a are the only mics I got in my arsenal, got about 10 of them and then a couple of Sonys which might be used if wind blows so hard that the COSs are wiped out. Forgot to mention that one of the mounting approaches was also with a Hush lav. COS in a Hush in the chest of the actor and worked ok but I cannot go with this mount n every shot. Hair mount is a good option indeed but I cannot opt for it on this film as we are setting up and then covering quickly from various angles and the wire coming down the neck would be an issue to conceal on time. I used this technique on an actress with long hair and worked a treat. Forgot to mention that all the shots are also boomed of course and everything's covered from there but I am just used in offering clean radios too so post has a variety of options that I feel very much pushed in the corner on this film. Costumes dept are very friendly and colaborative and I actually checked all costumes prior to the shoot ad they all looked mild fabric ones. Used the mics on a variety of clothes from an open bra to t-shirts and sweat hoodies. All costumes give issues. Don't know if I mentioned that I ended up with the Rycote Overcovers solution, leaving a small spot of air above the mic to help it capture the performances clearer. Gives the mount a more "open" sound than the rubber but I still get rustling there !!! After the shoot, I wired up my boom op with all the mounting options available to me. RM-11 with moleskin and double sided sticky taped on a soft t-shirt under a soft hoodie RM-11 with moleskin and without double sided sticky. Moleskin taped on the mic leaving it a bit of a curve in front. Rycote overcover plus Rycote sticky In all mounting scenarios, he did body movements only, twisting the body left nd right and standing up. Had issues in all mounts therefore concluding that its an issue of I don't know which case but it cannot be solved for now. I will nail the issue at the end of the film but wanted to see if I could save the radios now. Thanks for the feedback. Off to the battle filed ...
