  1. Sorry to differ, but I bought the BBG for this mic ( I added a ring to the mic so that it fits nicely) and it completely wrecks the polar pattern, the ring is right in the middle of the capsule and it sounds completely different when on. Its usable all right, but you might be dissapointed as I was. I have not found a better solution though.
  2. Awesome. I´d have loved to work on this one.
  3. I don´t participate too often, but I´ve read both threads and while agreeing with most of what has been said, I feel like I´m missing info to play the blame games. Hell, I feel like I´m missing the problem. But I could be wrong. Mono to poly files ---> Wave agent ---> batch process and go grab a coffee while it gets done by the computer --> Then you can keep working as you like. No big deal, No deal at all. I would blame production for not accommodating you, not someone who wasn´t aware of your existance or any workflow preferences. Also, I don´t think that a batch process before syncing would have stopped this production from hiring this mixer or had him use another machine if his wasn´t capable of poly files. Low levels ---> You might be right, but please let us know about S/N ratio if you want a clear bash to that track. 24 bit and a good preamp do wonders ---> The built in OSX AU for gain or amplification, or whatever is called, is accessible in your NLE and will give you all the dB of gain you might need, without any DAW or resorting to duplicate tracks, hence it is not such a hassle either, even if not the most convenient. I´m guessing the tracks are not too good according to your tale, but IMMO talking specs in this way isn´t going to clear what´s wrong with them. Nor help future sound quality.
  4. I bought a couple of those Soshine as well to try them out. First test run gave around 9 hours in an UMC200 TX. Letś see how they hold in time as you said.
  5. Thanks a lot Calum. The rean catalog I was looking at only had TA3 listed so I assumed they were not doing it, I will have to call the dealer. I am going to buy some of the weather proof ones as well to give them a go, but I thought they might not fit in all my interconnects. Could you do all 788 outputs with those? As an example.
  6. Any of you use any alternatives to TA5s? I do not know anything but Switchcraft. I have ordered a chinese TA5 in ebay but I do not have many hopes for it.
  7. Another suggestion: Ability to Import lists into lists.
  8. Hi. My suggestions: Ability to choose from USA or EU Tv channels to be displayed. Regarding the TV add on and zip codes: It would be nice if a custom list of Channel occupation could be used in countries not regulated or which do not supply enough info for a dB calc. I could write down the channel occupation for the zip code or area marked and discard channels that should be occupied when precoordinating. I could build the database as needed. It could have three data sources from which to choose. -The full calc based in location. -Estimated based in zip code when no data is available. -Custom chart of simple TV channel assignment manually chosen. Thanks and keep it up.
  9. Yes it´s scripted. They are filming a film set according to the dialogue, producer, director, ... arguing... It´s not uncommon here to boom without headphones - We always use them though.
  10. Not really, my gaff is sexy too . Now seriously, automix is going to do me very good for the reality stuff, and it comes as a software update. The way I see it it's a good sign we are asking for functions to be added to the ios app, which I guess we weren't counting on when we bought the 788 (at least 3 years ago), or tweaks to the automix function which has recently come as an unexpected update ( for me). I meant to tell John that there are a few of us that will appreciate that kind of thinking and company behaviour, and actually enjoy updating and checking the new functions, today I felt like I had a new mixer for one man band gigs.
  11. It was posted for a couple of days in one of the biggest audio forums in spanish too: http://www.hispasonic.com It was a great laugh, and more than once even funnier.
  12. C'mon. Software updates which bring new features ARE sexy! I installed 2.18 for my 788 today coming from 2.14, it WAS sexy!
  13. GMP NP1s have worked great for the last two years for us. After testing one we bought 7 of them and a couple of chargers to power two kits, one around a 788T and another smaller ENG kit. 2 NP1s power the 788 for a whole day. They´ve been at 45ºC in Egypt and -20º C in Georgia (powering the bag while the fuel tanks were frozen!) They´ve been through a lot of rainy days working under a poncho around here also. Not a single trouble for us or complaints from the people hiring them. Regards.
  14. Wavelab will now be mac compatible with it´s next release v7. http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/wavelab/wavelab7_preview0.html
