  1. Is anyone able to compare the CSS-5 to Sanken's CMS-10? I have the 416 with emesser which has produced wonderful recordings when paired with the MixpreD or 744T, though it requires a blimp, and for when mounted on a camera, it sure does increase top heaviness and camera height. I wonder if the CMS-10 could be an alternative for the MKH-418s. If I could ask, would you prefer the CMS-10 or the CSS-5 as an on camera mic, and why or why not?
  2. x2, mine tested exensively in arctic marine environments without issue
  3. Will you use the bag with a harness or a strap? Nicely done!
  4. Jason, thanks so much for sharing some ideas! Maybe it's time to consider a shorter M/S setup that isn't dependent upon a windshield long enough to accommodate the MK416.... I'll report back with some initial bracket experiments soon. Thanks everyone for some humorous replies and suggestions, Hunter
  5. Dear All, I need to mount an M/S stereo setup which lives inside a WS4 on top of a Sony PMW-200. Does anyone know of any mount setups which replace the outer mounting bracket of the WS4 with something low-profile enough to sit low on the top handle of say, a PMW-200? The mounting provisions on the PMW-200 are 1/4 20 and a hot shoe, though I believe the 1/4 20 would be most versatile. The other option is to purchase a little swivel ball mount (such as this could connect the 1/4 20 provision on the PMW-200 to the WS4's supplied microphone mount (which is also 1/4 20). The problem with that solution is that it makes the unit sit high above the camera. The lower to the camera, the better. Has anyone seen this done? Thanks! Hunter
