  1. Hoping Howie implements 48k 24bit stereo recording when I'm standalone mode for outdoor adventuring. It's possible. Hoping they get some time to implement. Happy new year to everyone.
  2. me to, gave me bad memories of watching the Hobbit in HFR, horrible, haha
  3. I Built a DIY U47, has two euro tubes to equal the same voltages the old tele metal tubes put out, it was a PTP build, out of my paygrade and skill level, but it sounds absolutely stunning. I paired it with a handbuilt capsule, it stands up very proud and strong next to my old M49 and old school U87, different of course, but definately holds up. I'll grab some pics soon. Thanks for the link, you probabaly just burnt a big hole in my pocket, those holes keep life exciting though, cheers Prahlad What kills me, is guitar shops selling boutique amps, and delivering youtube videos using nothing but the inbuilt DSLR mics... renders beautiful amps down to static. I really don't get that, bad for sales.
  4. True, I see this a lot with DIYer's,
  5. Sorry if this has already been posted, but it's mighty impressive for a DIY. I'd never do it, but it's pretty sweet.

  7. Great awesome. That's handy. Thanks heaps.
  8. My TRX's are all lower block zaxcom. I'd like to grab the Camera Link and RX200. In the spirit of keeping the RX200 compatible for use with any of my TRX's. Would the Camera link be ok say running block 23, while the QRX's sitting on block 21. And would it be ok with the Camera link on the bottom half of block 23, while the QRX sitting on the upper half of block 21? I"ll be grabbing the CL and RX200 either way, but hoping this kind of setup could work. Would at least give me a backup Receiver in a pinch of ever needed. Cheers Prahlad
  9. I agree, my thoughts to. I have both, the DPA to me is more open in the top end. Which may be better or worse depending where it's mounted.
  10. yes. Standalone recording no wireless. As I understand it. The 742 transmits only at 32k. Which imo is silly since it's an all digital transmission. Although I'm sure they have their reasons. This would be purely for going out and recording direct to the inbuilt micro sd card. Remote hiking and would be set to standalone 96k / 48k record mode only. yeh they need more juice. I've experienced the same depending on the headphones used. Another 10db would be helpful. I've had crosstalk on a few cables. One was bnc xlr. The other for red one. Both home made. I fired myself and switched to remote audio. I now have both in the braided remote audio cable and no issues. Seems to be cable / connector related.
  11. yes like that. But improved up top. Needs to be stretchy condomm like material but thicker. So it can gasket itself to antenna / cable
  12. Howie said in stand alone it is. The chip is already capable. Just firm ware required. And therefore time. Fingers crossed.
  13. That's cool, definately the potential for a tight fitting thin custom cover for the TRX's and even rain proof, could be easily done. Maybe the wonderful Orca bags... like a clear thin stretchy see through cover that can help the zaxcom tx's withstand heavy rain. I'm gonna email mr ORCA,
  14. How Told me he will possibly be inplementing 24bit 48 and 96k standalone recording on the 742. For my remote ambience recordings straight to the micro card. In stereo. I I know a bunch of sfx engineers waiting for this. Long live zaxcom.
  15. nice lighting 🔥 Oh shit. I didn't realise this was the new erx. Nice. Thought something was a miss. Super nice.
  16. I bought through pro sound. Through Justin Ditch. I had heard orders went smooth through them. Got mine a few days later. Super light weight. The wing option fits the 742 perfectly. Real nice. Wish I got the 10ft that fits a pelican though. Tsa is off and on with boom poles in general.
  17. I agree, Zaxcom is awesome, but they fall short in a few key areas compared to Lectrosonics. One being water proof option, the other is the 742 not having a solid connector like the lectro bullet for boom
  18. IFB 200 + erx is still more attractive to me, wish it looked as sexy as the betso though... having such a small device with rock solid timecode plus high quality IFB / Scratch is awesome.
  19. Nice, i like that. I have the older stingray, where do you put your headphones???, I like the old front part as it's bigger, fits my IFB 200 + a set of sony's... i'd miss that, but like a few things on the new one...
  20. If the erx r on set with my nomad or maxx am with ifb200. What good does calibration do for me? Since these keep the erx on the money all day im guessing all erx owners also own either of the above. Handy for when cameras go out of range like follow cars etc?
  21. no. I went to a side stand in town selling necklaces.l that had some pretty stones on them. Just weaved it on that and taped it down their back. Nothing much else I could do with the tx. Clipped it on the little belts they were wearing.
  22. Just curious. Since I love the erx route for its Timecode and scratch audio in one / ifb. What's the deal with the betso. What does it have that's making it popular. I just can't imagine a better rig than an erx.
  23. The aqua pac work well. But become cumbersome to hide. Especially with crop tops and shirtless jungle hippies like I had.
