  1. Just received my Oktava MK 012 which I ordered from Amazon through the Oktava seller. When it arrived I noticed that the xlr connector had some of the surrounding paint/powder coating/whatever they use slightly damaged and chipped off. Is this normal for this microphone or did I unknowingly buy a damaged or used microphone? Thank you for your help!
  2. I'm in the market for a small pencil microphone for my rig. I have the long shotguns for outdoor use but I need a hypercardiod that will work well on a boom. I'm torn between the Oktava MK012 and the Avantone Pro CK-1? Thoughts? Anyone use either or both of these and make a case for them? There is like zero reviews for these mics online. Also on the cheapest end i'm looking at the BadAax TK120.
  3. I am hearing an electronic-sounding noise when moving my Nomad's faders but only when my Oktava Mk012 is connected. Other mics are fine (mkh60, mkh416) I am in communication with Zaxcom about it, but in the mean time I am curious if anyone else has had a problem with this combo? The MK012 was purchased in 2010 from Oktava-online. As such, pins 2 and 3 are switched. This has never caused a problem sound-wise or power-wise. Only power issue was when powering from a Sennheiser buttplug, but adding a phase reversal adapter fixed that. Recording of the noise is attached. Anyone having this problem? TESTS001.WAV
