  1. I have a new app! Yes, it is another timecard app, but it is free up front so everybody should try it! Video Demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxkxMsfPSAU iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/timecard-buddy/id1101203997?mt=8 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newendian.android.timecardbuddyfree&hl=en Also I have a new website: http://www.newendian.com
  2. Hello again, ladies and gentlemen! I just wanted to announce here first that we just released our latest app, TV Timecard. To keep it simple, this app is designed to give you the fastest, most reliable and least cumbersome interface to keep track of your hours while on set. It's specifically meant to NOT keep up with your rates and perform other calculations that you either don't need or don't want to do. So if you're looking for something that does everything the accounting department would do, look elsewhere. Some people do want that, but I didn't. I built this out of frustration in dealing with existing timecard apps, "Notes" and other methods of keeping track of my hours. To me, they were all very clunky and inefficient. I wasn't interested in setting up a job, title, payrate, etc. each time I started a new shoot. I just wanted the bare bones package of keeping up with my times; and possibly more importantly, writing them down on my timecard at the end of the week. So here you have an app that is super easy to enter your daily times and super easy to view your times for the entire week. It's a tap here and a tap there and you're done. I think/hope y'all will like it. I've been testing it thoroughly for the past few months and have all the bugs worked out. I've also integrated Crashlytics, which automatically generates anonymous reports on any fatal errors a user might experience to help quickly solve any issues that may arise. I've attached some screenshots for convenience, but feel free to go to the app's page here or download on your iPhone here. It's $1.99 in the App Store for iOS devices. There's also a $0.99 in-app purchase available to allow for multiple users (if an AC wants to keep track of the DPs hours). If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask. I'll be following this posting. Select which day you want to keep track of Just tap on the desired field and it will insert the current time, or if it's lunch it'll automatically advance to 6hrs after call. All are adjustable, obviously. To fill out your paper timecard, select the week you want. You'll get all of your weekly times on one screen You can also create a simple PDF to e-mail or send the times as text via e-mail or text message Preview the PDF in app View of some settings. You can also backup everything via Dropbox (more services to be added later hopefully)
  3. Hey everybody, I´m trying to make a new app for iphone to log the sound reports. I know many of you use sound devices 788 or cantar and they have their on way. But if you are like me, working with smaller recorders (702), on smaller productions, you know there aren´t many options out there. I found the Sound Report app not so helpful when you have small amount of time to be watching your iphone in middle of the shoots and start making notes. I would like to create something where you make as few touchs to the screen as possible. Allowing you to log your report quickly and easy. I like to believe that these small details sometimes can make a lot easier our work. So i thought it would be cool if you could contribute with your ideas to make a great app!
  4. An iOS app that could be useful to sort out noises when fine-tuning on set equalization, notch filters, and so forth. (I'm sure there an applications for Android OS as well) "Spectrum Analyzer for iOS is a powerful real-time audio analysis app. Designed with musicians and recording engineers in mind, it can also be used by anyone interested in the world of sound. Ideal for room tuning or speaker tuning, the app enables portable, precision audio measurement and visualization." Available from Onyx (search the app store for Spectrum Analyzer)
  5. For any/all app developers on JW Sound, our engineering dept. is happy to send you the back-end programming schema for our current frequency selection which now includes both 100 kHz and 25 kHz steps and a 3-block tuning range. Think L Series. If you are interested in developing an app or upgrading an existing app with this information, please send me a PM. That is all!
  6. Sound Report Writer is now available in the Android Market. It does everything the iOS version does, and actually a little bit more. You can still visit www.inaudiblelabs.com for more information. In addition to the current iOS features, the Android version also has a Segment field. You are also able to create a take with the timecode running and hit 'Start TC' and 'End TC' whenever you are ready so that right when you create a new take that timecode isn't used. This allows you to set your take up in advance and once you are rolling you'll be able to execute the command with greater accuracy. This is still coming on the iOS version and now more time can be spent to do that. Enjoy!
  7. For all you timecode buddy users out there, I have made my own custom TC slate to use with MovieSlate or your other favorite slate app. I started by customizing a cheap Ikan slate. I removed the clappers, bought new light weight, yet durable black board and cut it to size. Then I drilled new holes, fastened the clapper sticks via screws to the board, did some other mysterious modifications to improve the quality of the clappers and made the new slate customizable. I am using the survivor military case for the ipad, along with additional screen protection that is replaceable. There is a half inch border of board to help additionaly protect the ipad. The neat thing here is that you can swap between the Ipad and the original slate anytime you want. Check out the photos and video and let me know what y'all think. :-) http://youtu.be/7sNs7vQJMmI
  8. Ok so I know this has been addressed in lesser forms but I am trying to put together a master list. I have finally come off the fence and become a pad person or rather purchased a couple of iPads for use at home and work. I am looking to populate mine with the relevant apps for sound and camera problem is for every good one there are several that just don't quite work. so what should I look at for sound and camera work. I'm talking slate, logging, equipment inventory, working up quotes, anything else you can think of? Also apps that talk to each other if there are any, a dp had one last year for his dslr slate that if I had my own iPad would have linked to my e-sound report and synced the info. also anything for invoicing that will work with quickbooks
