  1. Hi Everyone! Yesterday I ran a Lectro SMDWB with (2) new Eneloop Pro AA batteries (2500mAh black). Tx power was set to 100mW. Here are the results: 02:12 = 1.29V 03:04 = 1.28V 03:48 = 1.28V 05:17 = 1.27V 06:03 = 1.24V 06:31 = 1.22V 07:04 = 1.20V 07:39 = 1.15V 08:10 = lost power I was transmitting to an SRC and used the AA timer for the above times. Needless to say, I was impressed because my PowerEx Pro MiMH (which are 2700mAh) have been providing around 6hrs in the SMDWB. Going forward I plan to have my Rx's set to AA timer and expect 7.5hrs out of fully charged Eneloop Pro batts. I also hope to do this test soon on SMQV and SMWB Tx's (at 100mW) - and will post results here. Looking forward to your comments/suggestions! Best, Mj
  2. So I have recently purchased a DR 680 off a gentleman from this forum. My question is regarding the battery power. I am noticing that the batteries run really low really quickly (I had heard this is a problem with this particular unit) but when I pull them out and test them with a volt meter they all have well over 1.2v remaining. Some of them even up to 1.4... So what I'm getting is that the unit seems to think it's out of battery way before it is. Is there any real work around for this? Or do I have to keep replacing hardly used batteries? I do plan on getting an np1 style rig as soon as I can afford it but in the meantime I am stuck with the batteries. Cheers, Hugh
  3. Hey all. My Nomad is on its way and I've been lurking around the past couple of days reasearching different battery/powering options. I'm deciding between two powering options, and I'm trying to estimate how long the battery life will be. Battery A: 95wh (so 6,597mAh), 14.4 volts Battery B: 6600 mAh, 14.8 volts If I'm interpreting things right, the Nomad's power consumption is 8-18 VDC at 300mA I spent more time than I'd like to admit looking up formulas and scratching out numbers before it dawned on me that I might be doing things the hard way. Is it really as simple dividing the mAh of the battery by the mAh of the Nomad? This formula doesn't take the VDC into consideration, let alone bring everyone's best friend Ohm into the equasion. Also, can anyone with a Nomad confirm that 300mA is an accurate power consumption estimation? I purchased a 4 and I'll be using it on the low end of its abilities. It should arrive just in time for an extended gig in Mexico, so I won't be able to perform too many tests in advance, and budget wise I can't afford to buy more backups than I need. Thanks! (Sorry my first post is invovling math. I promise future posts will be less painful). -Alison
