Hi All, Just a quick question about your favoured mounting and wind protection accessories for DPA Lavs (4060 - 4061). I just picked up a 4061 and see so many mounting clip options in the DPA catalogue and elsewhere. Are there any versatile mounts that you especially recommend for common uses, hidden and exposed? Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge and experience :-) Cheers, Dave
Hi All, Just added my first Microdot connector Lav to my set-up - a DPA 4061. Now researching microdot adapters and am comparing the DPA adapters to the AKG versions. I am needing to use the 4061 with Sennheiser G3 wireless, at least for the next while. Are these Microdot adapters universal or interchangeable? Here's the AKG version : https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1192234-REG/akg_6500h00310_mda3_sen2_microlite_microphone.html versus the DPA version: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/390976-REG/DPA_Microphones_DAD6034_DAD6034_MicroDot_to_Locking.html Would there be any technical and/or quality difference between the 2 brands? I also see an "off shore" brand available elsewhere but a little hesitant about that, unless anyone has a favourable reliability rating for these. Lastly, any issues with DPA 4061 with XLR microdot adapter into Sound Devices 302? How is mic safely drawing power from 302? Thanks for sharing your expertise and experiences - very kind. Best Regards, Dave Mc.
Hello, I have done my fair bit of research on the web and within this forum concerning the DPA 406X series, but I haven't found a general answer to my specific question. Is the microdot connector really as faulty as people are saying? Is it better to just get it terminated to TA-5F for use with my Lectro wireless system? If I didn't hear the horror stories about the microdot I would be more inclined to get it because they offer both the 4060 and 4061 in a stereo set. The set also includes 2 microdot - XLR belt clip adapters; and I try to use a wire when possible so this would be very convenient. If I get the mics terminated to TA-5F I would need either the Lectro or Remote Audio TA-XLRF adapter. Is anyone using these adapters? I noticed the Lectro to be 3x the price. I'm afraid this would make my setup too bulky. I suppose by not getting the stereo set I could then get one 4060 and one 4061, but that would keep me from using the mics for stereo ambiences and SFX and limit me to film+ENG dialog. I'm at a loss of what to do and any further information on the microdot connector or TA-5F-XLRF adapters would be great. Thanks,
