Creating a DIY waterproof Rycote WS-2 wrap for cave or tunnel work is a smart move when you're facing wet or humid environments. Start by wrapping the windshield in a thin, breathable but water-resistant layer—Tyvek or a shower cap-style material works well. Secure it with elastic bands or Velcro to keep it tight without affecting audio transparency too much. Make sure to leave the mic ends slightly open for sound pickup while protecting the body. Test beforehand to ensure minimal impact on audio quality. Great for field recording in harsh, unpredictable underground conditions. Stay dry and record clean!
