RadoStefanov
Just got my bag back from the tailor, had a Canadian flag patch sewn on, here's a pic This is great form factor. what are the dimensions?
RadoStefanov
Petrol PS607. little tight on space but a nice bag, just picked it up yesterday PS607 is almost as heavy as ps614. IMHO PS614 is a better value.
Mike Wally
Kortwich Zaxcom Nomad Bag w/ Zaxcom Nomad-6. AKA, Velkro is awesome. I love being able to easily swap NP-Batteries, the side pockets are intuitive. Also being able to open up the bag from the zippers on the sides is a huge plus. ElanorR
Mike Wally, is the weight in this Kortwich bag primarily held by an over the shoulder(s) harness or by waist belt?
Mike Wally
Mike Wally, is the weight in this Kortwich bag primarily held by an over the shoulder(s) harness or by waist belt? I did not get the bag with the waist belt. I just use it with my Versa-flex Harness.
Vincent R.
@ Mike: do I see it correctly that the lower strap can connect to the Kortwich bag as well?
Mike Wally
@ Mike: do I see it correctly that the lower strap can connect to the Kortwich bag as well? Correct. There is two black loops on the bottom of the unit that you can connect the lower-strap of the versa-flex too. I've been able to do run-and-gun stuff on reality type shoots for at least an hour at a time...back's been holding up pretty well, still need to make sure I stretch afterwards though
Vincent R.
Thanks Mike, that makes the bag even more interesting.
Boomboom
Mine. I added ( not on all pictures ) the Unislot Blue anodised frame in order to make the removal of the SRa a breeze. Now i can load my bag with just the correct amount of wireless i need and make the bag lighter in the process. Connection for them is thru a DB25 that has Audio and DC in it ( my custom built cables ). Hey Pascal, any special box for cam return so you can switch monitoring between 788 and cam ? tas
Hi Tas, how does this small bag working out for you? I does look nice and neat, I might consider it for my soon-to-have Nomad. What brand/type of bag is it? And do you find any RF-spray problems with the receivers 'glued' to the mixer? Thanks... Vincent: It's working out great for me but, I don't have much gear. It's a portabrace 552. I'm using only half of the full bag and I have it flipped backward. RF spray has not been an issue for me. Even though I keep hearing concerns about rx proximity to the recorder, my own experimenting reveals that moving the qrx's further away sounds the same (quiet). Proximity of tx's and microphones to the zaxnet antennae is usually the culprit. Despite the benefits of such a compact setup it's not for everyone or for every job as most of the bag's real estate is already occupied. There is room for a third QRX and you can clip on an ifb transmitter or 2 but, I'm most often using ERX's so no need. One other thing you should know if you're considering this setup is the XLR inputs aren't easily accessible with this bag. I have short XLR extension cables peaking through the bottom of the bag and the QRX's are connected digitally. There are too many drawbacks for me to recommend but I wouldn't have it any other way. Vincent R.
Thanks for the insight Tas. My soon to be setup will be a nomad, 2 microns, G3 for IFB/scratch audio and the usual boom. So size wise about the same as your setup, even a bit less depth since the microns are half the depth of your saxcom receivers . You use that front pouch there for lavs and transmitters? Thanks again.

Tom Visser
I've been doing some rebuilding and just about there... just have to install the Lectro D4T transmitter for camera hops. The helmet lights attached to the side (they actually do regular white light too), have a clip that holds in place my remoted Zaxcom IFB antennas. I'm hoping that Zaxcom will get the firmware in place that will allow me to remote control all my body pack transmitters with just a single IFB unit, rather than running it on both QRXs. At this point I'm only using it for remote control and timecode, not actual IFB audio. I am using the AES inputs on the Nagra so the Zaxcom audio stays in the digital domain all the way to the D4R camera hop, where it can either be output AES or as analog as the situation dictates. justanross
That's a sexy set up Tom. I love my D4 set up as I've mentioned on here a million times And using AES when you can, is badass. I do it as much as I can with my 552.

I do it as much as I can with my 552. I need to reduce the number of freaking antennas coming out of my bag. I can already tell that I hate rubber ducks in the bag and need to find something flexible. I'll probably get a MicPlexer for the QRX and DC distro at some point. TimPitot
That is one classy setup, nicely put together. I'm dubious of the qrx in dual mode but if it's working for you, fair play - that bag is meter-licker (tm CC) porn.

Thanks Tim, I'll finish the buildout this weekend, just have to shove the D4T in there. I primarily use the receivers in mono mode, although I suppose they are about to get a workout in dual mode shortly, as the next one is a light reality format. My go to would be the 2 LAs and kick it over to dual mode when I have to grab the LTs.
RScott
Tweaked my Portabrace 442 and 302 bags. Elastic bands are now sewn into the front of the receiver area. The 442 bag holds three 401 or 411 sized receivers (or a HM or whatever you want to put there.) The front pouch of the 442 bag has elastic to hold four UM or SM transmitters, battery packs, tools, etc. The 302 bag has elastic to hold two wireless sets to the forward wall of the front compartment. Added in a Velcro strap to the left of the 302 bag to hold headphones.
