davidp158
+1 Hi, again, and WELCOME... " I can't help with the DR-680 " well maybe not directly, but perhaps you can help us, by pointing the way to establish a connection into that division, or even invite someone to join in here... Tom Duffy
For a wealth of DR-680 information, I suggest visiting the tapersection.com forum, where all aspects have been actively discussed for many years. There is no benefit in rehashing it here. http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=164963.0 Tom.
engaudio
Tom, Is the DR-10 series available overseas? I understand there's some "legal" issues being fought out in the USA but is the unit currently available in my country, New Zealand? There seems to be some confusion with local resellers.. Grant. Tom Duffy
I don't have information on product availability, except to the extent I can ask other guys in the office here. Since "here" is the US, we don't know about availability in other countries, sorry. <redacted, no comment> Tom.

I'm pretty familiar with it's workings, what it can and can't do, quirks, ect.
MJA
There is no legal issue being fought, as far as I am aware. Zaxcom asked, we complied. if you mean Zaxcom asked you not to sell it and you complied, thats a little bit crazy, who ever made that decision should rethink it, we have a load of people in the UK that would buy them and i'm sure you would sell tens of thousands of them in the US as Lectrosonics are one of the more popluar brands over there. For the price they are we would be using them as disposable recorders with things like Go Pro's

resonate
love the dr-680, although it's weakest part are the buttons - the channel selector buttons. i have had them replaced them once by the tascam dealer in poland, and they stopped working reliably couple months after. bad engineering, sorry. (or lousy dealer service)
Rich Reilly
Hmmm. Tom, is Resonate's problem unique..or something more widespread?
MJA
i've Spoken in person with the Tascam rep in the UK and he has been told from higher up the food chain not to sell anymore of the DR10-CL's, as they might not be able to get them due to some legal issue in the US. Also having spoken with some other people in the US (sorry can't say names) they have infomed me that Zaxcom are meant to have sent a letter to Tascam. thats as much as i know. Tom Duffy
I've not heard of any DR-680 button problems, might be something unique to the environment that unit was being used in. Hmmm. Tom, is Resonate's problem unique..or something more widespread?
