bperlman
Anybody know if there is a way to get the SMPTE code in or out of the Panasonic DVX100B - jam to or from my SD 744T? Thanks, Bruce
old school
Hey Bruce, the short answer is no. You can record TC as audio on a trk, but there is no jamming option as we have on truly pro cams. I own a dvx100a and have synced audio to the camera many times w a double system using a smart slate and FCP 6.whatever the newest is. Feeding the camera line level works well and the camera is one of the better ones as far as I can tell for recording sound. 29.97nd your file time stamp, and the camera should sync up fine as long as they slate it. Best of luck and hard wire it if you can. CrewC
ptalsky
Bruce, On the last couple of DVX projects I did, we lined up the camera time to the slate time fairly rough (i.e. slate starts at 58:30, set the camera at the same time and flip the switch on the slate and the camera at the same time). Certainly not frame accurate, but close. Either way, go ahead and slate each take - it makes sure you have a line up mechanism. Phil
