Jedson13
I'm trying to figure out how to record 4 separate audio channels to the Sony XDCam PDW 700. Has anyone done this before? Thanks - Jed
Dennis Kersten
there's a 5 pin xlr input (on the front i believe) for a stereo mic you can use and two xlr inputs on the back.
Simon Paine
I do it all the time. I send four AES/EBU digital audio channels via my Lectro D4 system. Channels 1 and 2 go in XLR 1 and channels 3 and 4 go in XLR 2. Set the rear switches located just above the XLR plug to the middle setting (AES/EBU) and make sure the side audio settings are set to "rear". No need to worry about the gain dial settings on the side. The digital signal bypasses the gain settings of the analogue inputs. If you don't have the D4, you can hardwire to the camera, but you need the source signal to be AES obviously. I've never tried going in through the 5 pin XLR on the front. Michael Kennedy
+11. I don't have a D4, but do it all the time with a umbilical cable and my 552. Super fast and easy. MK
