rofin
From the website ... CPAntenna Uses Circular Polarity for Strong Reception The IWxCPA antenna is not like your traditional paddle or rod antenna commonly used with wireless microphone receivers and pro-audio antenna distribution systems. The antenna incorporates directional, Circular Polarization (CP) technology for both receiving and transmitting pro-audio wireless applications. We guarantee* that this antenna will reduce interference, reduce drop outs, help eliminate ‘swishing’ noise artifacts, improve RF signal to noise, and enhance reception of signals propagated through and around objects. http://www.kaltmancreationsllc.com/rf-test-equipment-html/invisiblewaves-html/cpa-antenna-html/

Sound Grab
It's been a while since I took my RF class in college, but how is this any different than a helical antenna?
LarryF
It's been a while since I took my RF class in college, but how is this any different than a helical antenna? Both are versions of a CP antenna. This one doesn't have much gain. Most commercial helicals have gain in the 10 to 13 dBd range. Sound Grab
That's what I thought. Now I have no regrets about the Shure HA-8089 I just bought.
