nysounds
So do we contact Zaxcom directly to get the factory done 8 to 12 upgrade?
efksound
Thanks for posting the official info. Still don't understand why the ones marked with * need to be upgraded at the factory. Going from a Nomad 8 to 12 AFAIK is only a track count upgrade... Isn't it that accomplished with the unlock code? For users living outside the US that means we will once again spend more on shipping that on the actual upgrade...
VM
Sorry but I do not understand. I read : Nomad 4 become Nomad Lite, and then : Nomad to Nomad Lite 95$. So I understand Nomad 4 will be upgradable to the Lite.
fieldmixer
Nomad 4 is upgradable to lite for 95$ AND 10 for 1250$
fieldmixer
I think factory direct means FROM the factory not AT the factory. And also means not from the dealer. So don't bother them with any of this I guess.

You do not need to send to the factory. You need to CALL Zaxcom direct so they can give you an unlock code via phone. Once again please wait until November 1st if you are going to a Lite or a 10. studiomprd
" So do we contact Zaxcom directly " you can always start with a call to your specialist production sound dealer... " Upgrades with the * are done factory direct only " that's pretty clear to me.. " Sorry but I do not understand. " yes, you do.

So don't bother them with any of this I guess. You can go through your dealer for the upgrade as far as I understand, starting on or around November 1st. Especially if you are going from a 4 to a 12 since it has to physically go back to Zaxcom, you can let your dealer's service department handle it for you. John Blankenship
Going to hit up the Zax forums to get to the bottom of this What's the bottom you're looking for? The new prices are now: Lite - $3995 10 -- $4850 12 -- $5995 The upgrade prices are as above. The ones with the * are done by way of an upgrade code that you call Zaxcom to get (at the above prices). The Nomad 8 to 12 upgrade gives you four more record tracks and 10 automix tracks rather than six.
nysounds
I was just a little confused on the call the factory for upgrade code as opposed to sending it in, thats all. All clear now

nysounds
Yeah- I have no complaints about the upgrade pricing. Thought since the there is a price change happening Jan 1st then why not go ahead and get the two extra tracks now.

fieldmixer
I'm happy to upgrade. Very true how 10-12 tracks is rarely needed but... I'm a sucker for a bargain.

johnpaul215
ahhh I should have done the 6-8 upgrade! I could use the extra 2 tracks and the USB. I was mostly waiting till USB was ready to go.
