Christian Spaeth
I am using a mix-8 with my Nomad. I noticed that Nomad reacts to Mix8 fader movements with a small delay. If i pull a fader dowb quickly, it takes about a second until the channel is silent! Has anyone had issues like that with a Mix-8 before? Is it normal? glenn
Nomad fader delay should be unnoticeable. We will check into it. Glenn
Christian Spaeth
Especially happens when quickly pulling down from +6 or +12 to the bottom.
Jared Detsikas
I just got a mix 8 this week and noticed the same thing. Hasn't been an issue for me yet but there's definitely a noticeable delay on fast fades. Running 4.0 on Nomad.
Wandering Ear
I've been considering a mix8. I hope the delay is something that can be fixed. Besides the delay, how do you like it? Wandering Ear
RadoStefanov
I am buying the mix-8. is the delay only on quick fades?
Michael P Clark
This not something that I have noticed, but I'll check again next week.
Christian Spaeth
The delay on normal fades is barely noticable but there is a delay. When you do quick and long fade-downs the delay is too long and needs to be addressed. Apart from that, working with the Mix-8 and Nomad is fantastic. Mixing just gets so much smoother and easier. I wish the Mix-8 had an on/off switch though, because you have to unplug it from power every time before you power up the Nomad.
Christian Spaeth
One thing that puts me off is that whenever I quickly want to Disconnect the Mix-8 and use the Nomad faders instead, I have to reboot Nomad. (and re-jam time code to cans subsequently) Otherwise the faders won't be active. Is there a workaround? If not, can this be changed so a power cycle won't be necessary? Wandering Ear
Christian, Thanks for your impressions of the mix 8. You shouldn't have to rejam tc after a reboot. I can see how it'd be annoying to reboot if you need to plug or unplug the mix8. Wandering Ear
Dani Fontrodona
Hi Christian, a little off topic, but I am interested in which inputs of Nomad can you control with trims and faders 7 & 8 on mix8, as faders 1 to 6 are supposed to be hardcoded to inputs 1-6, but there is no information regarding these extra faders. Returns 1&2? Thanks Daniel
RadoStefanov
Can somebody shoot a little video showing the delay? Thanks
Christian Spaeth
Kelsey, the reboot is only necessary when you take the Mix-8 off the Nomad. The other way round things work. I hope this can be resolved with a Nomad software update? Daniel, actually I haven't tried, but once I get the time in between takes, I will and report back. If I have more time I will shoot the video with the delay.

Christian Spaeth
Confirm that inputs 7 and 8 go to faders 7 and 8. Mix 8 rocks the boat!

Ezekiel974
mix 12 is not compatible with any nomad. About mix 8 i was wondering, you can't assign whatever you want to the faders ? It all digital why is it not possible ?
Mark Orusa
mix 12 is not compatible with any nomad. My understanding is that while Mix 12 is not officially supported it does have limited functionality. Personally, I would love to see full support for it, or better yet a newer, lighter, less power hungry mix surface. Mark O.

It all digital why is it not possible ? is that new that the mix 12 doesnt work with the nomad? last i had read (some time ago to be honest) was that the mix 12 would work, but with limited functionality. i assumed that only the gains and faders worked, and the faders 9 and 10 controlled inputs 9 and 10. but i was never interested in spending all that money on a mix 12 to do anything sensible like speak to zaxcom and find out for sure. Dani Fontrodona
From Zaxcom forum: "Zaxcom does not officially support Mix-12 use, but you can utilize the faders, trim pots and input meters". And hopefully also keyboard in future (with Nomad 12)
