Antennas for receivers and transmitter?

Hi everyone

Here in the UK, we use for some wireless headphones and receivers a frequency between 864-865Mhz as it is free of licence. As this frequency falls in the rage of wide-band antennas, i was wondering if i could plug my ifb transmitter to the antenna out on my venue receiver and use my 2 shark fin antennas with it at the same time as using the venue?

Will it work or will it make some interference from one system to the other?

Thanks

Absolutely will not work. You would be connecting an output to an output. The Venue output goes to the next receiver as a daisy chain. Between the sharkfin and that output you have a 7 way splitter (big loss 8 dB), a matching pad (small loss 3 dB) and an amplifier into which you would be going backwards (major loss 30 dB). After 40 dB of loss, you'd be better off burying the IFB transmitter in the ground.

Best,

even without Larry's answer, doesn't connecting a TX output into an TX unit sound a little scary ??

" if there was a way of using the same antenna for receivers and for ifb. "

well, yes, it is called a diplexer, and wikipedia and or Google are your friends.
