bigbenboom
Forgot the most important one.. Sound Cart: Super convenient place the crew can charge their iPhone or Android device... Don't forget! This is where your coffee goes!

sounddguy
Here's one: Action! : Me, confused look, staring at camera department...What happened to calling for sound??? I did a 2 hour favor on a quickie the other day. Call "camera" eventually reply "speed" then "sound" then usually "what take is this....." It was so hard not to laugh through it all. Mark LeBlanc
As Promised.. Part 2 of Low Budget terms... -Sins of the Morning: Where a single shot consumes the first six hours of the day at the expense of the remaining 12 pages of dialog. Usually involves high talent count with either a steadycam shot or spinning 360 dolly shot.. -The Great Panic!!: Usually precipitated by "Sins of the Morning", where the producer arrives on set with 2 hrs left in the day, only to find we still have 10 pages of dialog with the "A" talent that has to be on a plane in 2 1/2 hrs... -Puke the Truck: When every piece of equipment is evacuated from the Grip truck at the behest of the DP. "Damm, we were just doing VFX pickup shots and the DP made me Puke the Truck"! -Wide and Tight - Method of shooting where the project can get twice the footage to help speed up production at the expense of the sound dept.. See "Fuck Sound" -Fuck Sound: Often used term on movie sets where no effort is made by production to help facilitate quality audio capture. Common causes include bad locations, bad locations, mumbling thespians, chatty crew members and shooting Wide and Tight. -Making our day: Term used by more seasoned crew members in which tales of completing all scenes on the callsheet without overtime are told. -Scratch Track - Usually a wireless audio signal sent to camera who's purported use is to speed up editorial. -Pieces: Method of covering a scene in which two or more cameras are used where neither actually get a clean look at the entire scene, thus forcing the editor to look for short periods in the take where the actors were both in frame and in focus. -We're Rolling: Phrase belted out by the intrepid P.A. contigency, signaling to the rest of the crew that they now have to speak louder when using their cell phones! Henchman
It really blows my mind how people put together a feature, and expect to pay people to basically work for free. 24 12 hour days.
