audio911
Has anyone purchased these little adapters on ebay or amazon? They look like a good idea and to have a few in the wireless kits. I'd like to use my spare B6's or COS 11s (wired for Lectro) on my Senn. G3 units with out having to buy a dedicated mic for the occasional use on that system. They have a bunch of different types for microphone and beltpack connectors. Richard Thomas
I've got a couple of the YPA microdot adapters the seller also has and they've been fine. Seem to be pretty well made

audio911
@ SENATOR MIKE, guessing by your humor, does that mean that people (in general) have purchased that item? Or, have YOU purchased that item??? Ha Ha!!! It looks a lot more convenient that soldering a TA5M to a 3.5mm with a 1" piece of cable in between the two connectors... Do any of the "usual suspects" carry these adapters?

Or wear one backwards and one forwards. It's what the cool kids do, honest.
Boomboom
" I smell a new hat: 'Contact the Usual Suspects' " I'll need two heads... Maybe get rid of that skinny thing in the lower right part of the picture to make space for the second head?

ramallo
YPA are fine, I have a microdot to Lectrosonics (is very well made).
greg sextro
I might worry that these adapters would lengthen the connector too much and allow too much torque on the input. Basically making the input jack easier to break from normal use. A sort cable adapter would probably be a safer bet.

Link on Amazon Has anyone used these adaptors with Servo wired COS-11's? I bought one and it doesn't seem to work with my lavs.I tested the adapter with a multimeter and I think TA5 pin 2 is wired to the tip. Shouldn't it be pin 3? Lancashire soundie
They look like a nice idea but I'd be concerned about the torque one could apply to the plug, given the combined length of a 3.5mm jack and a TA5 connector. I have a couple of leads that go from Lectro to 3.5mm Sennheiser or Sony, they're a much safer solution.
