Richard Ragon
http://banglabs.com/...v=Episodes_Bats It might not appeal to people who are not in the biz, but this is the best comedy show by far now! p.s. Brett Grant-Grierson is on the sound mixer credits, but not shown in IMDB. And a good job to whomever works on this! -Richard
OmahaAudio
We've just seen the first season of this show on DVD and it's not just funny, it's witty.
RaceSound
Damn! Not on Netflix. But VERY funny! Brian
John Blankenship
"Episodes" is a Showtime series that just finished its second season. Yes, some of the supporting characters are frighteningly on-target. That scene was one of my favorites.
Richard Ragon
YES. the witty between the actors Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig is insanely great! -Richard
Marc Wielage
That looks great! I'll see if I can check that out on Showtime Anytime.
johngooch
I think it was a bold move to set the show in LA and shoot it in the UK. They pull it off pretty well. It seems like they did some of it LA. Very funny show- curious to see if the is finished or not.
John Blankenship
Start with Season One and watch the episodes of "Episodes" in order as it's a continuing story.

Richard Ragon
There were huge changes in production between session 1 and 2.. interesting.. I would love to hear the backstories. -Richard
RFsound
Thanks for bringing this little gem of a show to my attention. I found both seasons currently available on Comcast Showtime OnDemand and am now hopelessly (but happily) hooked after only two episodes! Looking forward to more! Christian Spaeth
We gave Episodes a few tries but it never quite caught on. I prefer shows like Portlandia (IFC) or Louie (FX). Check out the Louie episode where David Lynch(!) tries to teach him to be funny(!!!) Both extremely funny and witty, hands (and feet) down. I guess funny is a strict matter of taste. Blas Kisic
I just watched my first two episodes of Portlandia, and I found it quite a funny show. Unfortunately, it seems they haven't acquainted their sound department with the boom mic - everything seems to be done with lavs, and there's quite a bit of noise coming from them. I get that it's a low budget show, but it's quite distracting - I get the impression the production doesn't care about the quality of the sound… BK
johnpaul215
To be fair i only saw a few episodes, but That drove me nuts too. It can't be too low budget to hire a proper sound mixer, or not to give them time to do their job properly. In contrast, Louie seems low budget and quick and dirty and they have a sound department that gets the job done, on location, in NYC. Richard Ragon
My daughter told me about Louie. She said, Dad, there's this guy that sounds just like you!! I don't know if I should be flattered, or insulted. -Richard
soundmanjohn
Tamsin Greig (pronounce it "greg") is one of my favourite people. She's also an award-winning Shakespearean actor and a recurring character in a long-running radio soap about farming here in the UK. For more Tamsin and Mangan, see a series called Green Wing, and for some completely bonkers Tamsin, see another series called Black Books. She's also a very nice lady. Christian Spaeth
I just watched my first two episodes of Portlandia, and I found it quite a funny show. Unfortunately, it seems they haven't acquainted their sound department with the boom mic - everything seems to be done with lavs, and there's quite a bit of noise coming from them. I get that it's a low budget show, but it's quite distracting - I get the impression the production doesn't care about the quality of the sound… BK Funny, I always thought Portlandia to have very good sound, even though they rely mostly on lavs. It often sounds so thick and clean that I wonder if it's ADR but then it seems like there's a lot of improv so it can't really be... I suppose the lack of boom in the mix is due to the show's format. They interact and improvise a lot and I'm sure they shoot everything with at least two cams. Compared to many higher budget drama shows, Californication for example, Portlandia sounds very well done to me. Could be the quality of post, too... Being compared to Louie, Richard, may not be the best thing where looks are concerned, but the guy is very funny and intelligent for sure, so don't be offended Louie sounds really good to me too, by the way.
