RED ONE TA5 Output Configuration

Recommended Posts

Making a breakaway end for a RED ONE(2x TA3M send/TA5M return) for my Nomad.

Thought it would be simple but as with most things RED:

Downloaded the manual... not a whole lot in there.

Looks like there will be some poking around involved...

The Red One has TA3 females for audio input & the Nomad uses 1x 2 channel TA5 for output. From the Nomad TA5, pin 1 is ground for both channels, pin 2 is Ch 1 positive, pin 3 ch 1 negative, pin 4 ch 2 positive, pin 5 ch 2 negative.

The 2 channel return TA 5 on the Nomad is an unbalanced feed and should be wired from the RED with the ground to pins 1, 3, 5 and the left positive to pin 2 and the right positive to pin 4.

Thanks for the info Eric, very similar to my breakaway ends for Panasonic AJ-SDC615's(except XLR5F). RED's manuals have no info whatsoever on the pinout, and the REDUSER forum just muddies the waters.. ::)
