Joshua Anderson Posted March 26, 2013 Report Share Posted March 26, 2013 I recently took Eric's advice from this thread: The Countryman M4CP5RF-EB Props picked up the mics, I installed them (2 podiums with 2 mics each) with drill-thru XLR connectors that they found. " which mic best suit for" boom use and podium use " one mic for both applications ?? one best ?? these are typically different mic's for good reasons, as the applications are typically pretty different. assuming (which I shouldn't) thatthe podium mic is for use in a movie shoot of some sort, then it becomes at the least a collaboration with the art department. hyper-cardioids are frequent crossover choices, but that usually means compromise, not "best"... I have frequently miked podiums (floor stands, etc.) and lecterns on -and not on- podiums.(desk stands, etc)..
