Richard Thomas
I recently found out that a short I did about a year ago won Best Short at the Sundance London film festival, which is nice Here's the link: http://competition.sundance-london.com/films/2013/best/ It's a bit graphic, so probably not safe for work
rb1138
Hmm was that the whole movie? A very short short right? All the original heavy breathing, eh?
Richard Thomas
Really short, also didn't even take a whole day to shoot. I think everything except the bells at the end was recorded on location
rb1138
Good stuff. Listening to it on headphones (as I am forced to do) usually I pick up a lot of underlying sound problems. Sounds pretty great though.
atheisticmystic
Nothing graphic at all, mate. Congrats on the award. Did you do the post-sound?
Richard Thomas
Thanks! As far as I know I think the only post on that one was done by the editor.
atheisticmystic
When you first listened to it, what did you think about the overall sound edit?

Richard Thomas
I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out (on headphones form a laptop). I'll get to hear it in a cinema on Sunday. I was told about it pretty soon after it was announced a couple of days ago, although it was also the first I'd seen of the finished film (I'd almost forgotten about it, as the shoot was so short). There's a few things I've done where I've never seen the finished piece.

rb1138
There ought to be a law... Like a...binding contract of sorts? A legal document that both parties could sign? Yes that'd be a brilliant idea. Wonder if someone will ever come up with that.

bleueblancrouge
wonderful. sounded great. congrats. liked how after the job the reveal happens with the flower on his lapel, before that, it just looks like a couple of business men at it.
