chris_bollard
Anyone had a 400a Tx that powers up when power switch is off? The power LED flashes amber rapidly. Pretty sure will need to send it back to HQ
Steve Foy
Hi Chris, Never seen that, so I'm pretty sure it's back to the mothership for that one mate.
JonMoore
You're best bet is sending it back to Lectro HQ. Did the talent's sweat get into the TX? If so, it might be a little bit of salt corrosion- circuit board would need thoroughly cleaned.

David Thomas
I agree with jon: probably something conductive like sweat or salt water got onto the circuit board. Interestingly, it probably didn't simply short out the power switch, or the unit would act more normally. A flashing red LED can indicate low battery or power-off in progress. I don't see any code that calls for flashing amber in the current version of the firmware, so I wonder if the two sides of the LED are also somehow shorted together, and what you're seeing is an attempted flashing red, with a little color added. I'm sure our Customer Service folks can take care of it for you in any case. Fanatically, -DT
chris_bollard
Back home today so will try a little disassemble and look see. My service guy thinks its the controller IC, that's describing the issue without him physically seeing it.
Peter Mega
Hi Chris, I had a brand new UM400a do this straight out of the box so it may not be sweat related. Hey, is your avatar pic a set up from House Rules? The pic's a bit small to see what's going on there but it looks like a lot of RF distribution? chris_bollard
Opened up the Tx and cleaned up the boards. Working fine today but makes me wonder what actual cause was. Yes Pete, the avatar is some RF distro
