Edmond Smith
Hello all, hope life is treating you well or just starting to again, Some time ago I found a way to deal with chest hair, when it comes to lav-ing, but forgot... So! Does anyone have any tips they would like to share when it comes to curly, and or straight chest hair? The sound of hair noise is much worse than cloth noise in my ears. Thank you! jozzafunk
But really I find an rm11 with tidy fresh moleskin reasonably good - I usually drop it a bit to sit lower than the nipples to get the gap ( depending on their build )
mikewest
Get wardrobe to ensure he wears a vest or Tee shirt under his outer garment. The worst scenario is if a male actor shaves his chest! Then any garment movement produces a severe noise!!!!! mike
azw
Over covers work well, sometimes. Put the fuzzy part against the hair.
jason porter
Shaving the chest is great for the first day, the next day it is the WORST!
JonO
Sometimes I use a strap around the chest, puting the mic between the strap and shirt. Sometimes I use an overcover with hair facing inwards toward the chest hair. Sometimes I make them shave and sometimes I say f'it and just boom. -Jon
pverrando
If the wearer is a chest-shaver, I like to stick a 4x5" pad of moleskin directly to the chest, centered behind the lav. It keeps the stubble away from my microphone, and gives the wearer a moment to consider their vanity when applying/removing.

Wandering Ear
Over covers, undershirts, basically whatever you can do to stabilize and seperate the chest hair from your mic
aristotle_kumpis
I use alcohol swabs to take off the mic when it's on chest hair. By using the swab, the mic comes off with little hair loss. You can find them at any drug store.
