Multi QRX USB Cable

I've just ordered a second QRX (I already own one with IFB Option), but I wasn't able to get infos from my seller about the usb cable to link the receivers in order to use the one with the ifb transmitter for them both.

Actually, I also asked Zaxcom (no detailed info on the user guide too) but it seems they don't provide that cable.

So, is there someone here that use this configuration and would tell me which is the cable and connector parts required for the matter?

This is from the QRX manual dated April 2013 and shows the wiring. It should be standard USB 'A' connectors.

Buy a male to male cable (or, if you're like me you've got a few spares lying around....), chop down to size, rejoin in the middle with the wiring as defined in the attachment above.

I thought some special cable was involved, not only a different wiring.

So, basically, can I use a common cable, just rewired correctly, right?

Right. The wording of that sentence is poor. The connectors are 'generic' USB connectors, they are just wired differently. A 'generic' USB is wired:

1-1

2-2

3-3

4-4.

The Zaxcom serial connection is wired:

OUT to IN

1-NC

2-1

3-4

4-NC

The warning about them not being USB connectors is very misleading.  It should state that this is not a USB BUS, it is a RS422/RS485 BUS on standard USB connectors.

Easiest way is cut 1 usb cable, solder it proper and heat shrink the hell out of it.  Takes 2-3 minutes.

It's a lot cleaner to make the cables instead of patching two cables together in the middle.  The USB cables are not difficult to make if you have the parts.

Agreed. But if you need a cable in a hurry you can always just snap an USB cable in half...

Back on this topic please. I'm in the process of trying to make a cable to connect my Nomad to RX-12. Can I use this same method for the cable? I'm working in a small town so I only have access to Walmart. The only USB cable they sell is a printer cable. I wonder if I can buy two of those and splice them??

I'm not sure that the serial connection between Nomad and RX-12 is the same as between the QRX's, but yes, buying two cables and splicing them in the required connection will work fine.
