Erik Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Just notice this new audio delay/lip sync corrector on the B & H website today that looks like a much smaller, lower power solution than the Behringer Shark. Sescom SES-A-V-SYNC A/V Lip-Sync Corrector Under two inches square, AC power 0.5 watt, 8 setting audio output delay from 0-300 milliseconds for $79. Quote
Eric Toline Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 With RCA in/out conectors. Sescom SES-A-V-SYNC A/V Lip-Sync Corrector The SES-A-V-SYNC is a L/R In-Out audio-video synchronization corrector. Another way to describe it is it is a compact device that corrects audio delays between audio and video. When distributing video over long distances through multiple devices like distribution amplifiers and set top boxes there can sometimes be a noticeable video processing delay which results in audio being played before the video. This also happens when the audio from sources is sent to audio amplifiers over analog lines while the video is send to the display over HDMI or digital lines. The SES-A-V-SYNC can be manually adjusted so the audio delay can be set from 0'300ms in set increments so you can perfectly synchronize your audio and video. The SES-A-V-SYNC is also sometimes referred to as a "Lip-Sync-Corrector" USES & FEATURES: Home Theater Cable TV Set-Top-Box Showroom display High Resolution Audio Sample Rate Of 48 kHz Zero Delay signal bypass Option Low power consumption Up to 24-bit resolution Powered via included external universal AC/DC adapter (input: 100V'240V AC, 50'60Hz) Dimensions excluding connectors (L X W X D): 1.75" X 1.75" X 1" Download SES-A-V-SYNC User Manual Downloadable Sescom Warranty Card Part #: List: Quote
Jeff Wexler Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Sescom SES-A-V-SYNC A/V Lip-Sync Corrector This item has been available for quite some time, formerly in white packaging but still named usually in some form as a "Lip-Sync Corrector". I believe Sescom has purchased this, packaged it in black and under their name. A Google search will return numerous sources to purchase this $79.00 item. It should be noted that it is DC powerable (not AC power as indicated above) but requires 5 vdc. For mine I built a simple DC to DC converter in a box with a power switch (my unit does not have a power switch, maybe Sescom added a switch?) to give it 5 vdc from my Cart Power Supply. It works very well though the delay settings are rather coarse increments, I have found that it can be set by eye and suitable delay settings will get the job done. - from B&H site (but there are lots of others: see Sescom SES-A-V-SYNC A/V Lip-Sync Corrector via Google Search) Quote
Philip Perkins Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 It looks like a Gefen box (or the box of whoever makes Gefen's stuff). The little DACs I use are in the same chassis and use the same PSU. I made a 4x AA supply for mine that works very well. philp Quote
