JackHenry
Oh I agree about the cat names. But love them or hate them, it was a good indication that they all belonged to the 10.x series. A move to a new name type within the 10.x series is just odd.

johnpaul215
I'm pretty sure it is 10.9, and as for the cat names, I think they hit on it at WWDC in June. They made some joke about running out of cat names. It's going to have a lot of changes, so they are rebooting a little, but not jumping to 11.0 yet. I don't think Mavericks will see all the skeuomorphism design removed yet. BTW, my 10.8 running Mac claims not to know the word "skeuomorphism". haha I've wondered what will happen... Will it be OS X 11.0 ? or will it be OS XI 11.0? I'm pretty sure the official Apple stance was that the "x" in OS X was pronounced "ten" and not "X", but I don't think that stuck. The X was introduced for OS 10, but that was also the massive switch to a Unix based operating system. It warranted a very clear designation (warning?) that everything was different. Also, ever since the cats started, Apple really uses the casual name a lot more than the 10.x number.
