George Tsai
Came across this for the new movie Gravity: Link to vimeo Wasn't on my list of movies to see in theater, but now I might reconsider:-P
Tom Visser
Sci Fi is one of my favorite genres, and this seems more biased towards science than fiction - when reasonable. I will definitely be checking it out in theaters.
RPSharman
I worked with Chivo (DP) a week or so ago on a commercial, and heard him talking about this movie with his crew. He was saying the sound was amazing, and they asked about there being no sound in space. He said that there was of course some cinematic license, but that the movie "would be nothing without the sound". Made me very interested in checking it out. He also said it had to be seen in 3D, which is also unusual coming from a DP. Robert
filmfreak
Can't wait for "Gravity" Children of Men is on my top 10 films of all times. as a film its technical achievements, surround mix, script and actors. Was really looking forward for Cuaron's film after Children Of Men. Gravity justifies watching the film on an IMAX theater.
Eric Toline
From the trailers I've seen I'm not sure I could tolerate Ms. Bullocks voice in a space suit for 90 minutes. Eric

And Eric, could it be any worse then Bane's DX ?
Eric Toline
Banes voice was an affectation for the part. The only movie that she did that I have seen was vocally acceptable to me was "Blind Side." Eric
mpsanos
saw it 1D in a Regal RPX room , was not impressed with sound . wait for netflix.

I did not know he was the DP on that film... good for him...
old school
Chivo is a great guy and a film maker in that he gets the big picture. This team did "Children of Men" as well. Very talented artist all. Off Thursday & I plan to see it. CrewC
jdutaillis
Definitely check it out guys. I saw it last week in 3D and loved it. The sound is incredible as are the visuals. Be warned though, it is an exhausting experience.

Either way, The Edwards Cinemas near me has Atmos in their RPX theater, and the IMAX screen there does not.
Angelo Waldron
From the trailers I've seen I'm not sure I could tolerate Ms. Bullocks voice in a space suit for 90 minutes. Eric The best thing about this movie... it's only 90 minutes.
John Blankenship
A friend saw it over the weekend and said to ignore the trailers -- that they don't do the film justice. He said it's totally engaging, worth seeing in iMax 3D, and he'd likely see it again in a theater. I have plans to go tonight.
Henchman
I hated the sound of Children of Men. All the annoying panning of principle dialog was really distracting. It sounded like a bad videogame to me.
seth
Lot of heavy breathing going on. What kind of movie is this again?
Tom Visser
Porn in space is going to be huge in the future.
dfisk
Its just a bit too big! That's what she....shouldn't go there... I've heard the movie is really good. I never get to the theater, so I'll be renting this one, but I wish I could see it in the theater.
Christian Spaeth
I admire Cuaron for being so aware of the possibilities of sound and paying it the attention it deserves. Wish there were more directors like him! Wonder if the acoustic immersion works at all in regular surround cinemas.
