Blas Kisic
Forget that. Where's the shock mount? And what kind of pole is _that_? ;-)
Freeheel
The pole is a Gitzo. Very cheap and actually not too bad. I bought one as a stunt pole and a loaner. Gets used with a go pro on the end more often than a mic... Cheers, Brent Calkin

John Blankenship
great. now every producer who wants to buy his own sound kit is going to see this and not get a shock mount. Don't despair, it's not much different than the cavalier way booms are flailed about when shown in movie scenes, such as in press crushes. Many of them are floating up in the air not even close to being able to get the supposed desired sound byte. And, I can't even count the number of films I've seen over the years in which the press photographers in a scene haven't the faintest idea how a pro handles an SLR. Most of them look like clueless tourists holding their first ever camera.

Mark
I hope they don't buy a shock mount and it ends up sounding like crap. Then maybe, just maybe they will figure out the need a real sound recordist.

Mark
That's great. It is good we can all have different opinions. That's what makes discussion interesting and fun. Sometimes I also don't agree with what others say. If we were all the same it would be boring.
