Hey Constantin, I think you're paying too much attention to that guy. I agree with you most of the time but remember: there's always the "ignore" list...

Yes, you're probably right. He doesn't get to me as much anymore, though. At first, I found his replies quite aggravating. Also he does sometimes dispense valuable advice, albeit well hidden. And there is a sort of entertaining, and slightly self-torturing aspect to it

stupid question : how can you guy attach pics on the posts?

Via the "More Reply Options" button next to the "Post" button. Click and you'll see the "Attach Files" option.

On the mobile version of the board I think you have to click on the "Full Version" button at the bottom of the page so see the "More Reply Options" option.

Best regards,

Jim

Reviving this. I'm using two Lectro SNA600a antennas in my bag and I'm happy with the performance but I'm wondering if the newer stuff (like bowties, or something else) might be better? Ergonomically I'm not loving these dipoles in the ag and how I've ended up mounting mine.

So I guess I'm also curious how people like to mount them. I'm using the threads built into the new K-tek bag.

There's a parallel discussion about this going on here:

I don't know that it's progressed too much beyond what you've already observed:  SNA600a performs great, but isn't a good form factor for bag use.

Bowties won't perform better, but may perform good enough for a bag with better ergonomics.  Not sure the discussion has progressed much beyond that.

I have come to enjoy using my old 'Lectro SNA with my small bag (MP-10/DSR4). I picked up some SmallRig clamp thingies that mimic the Betso parts and applied LokTite as required. It seems to perform better than my Bowties on the large bag (Scorpio/SL2/DSR4/DRS) and when I don't need it, it just folds up and disappears.

I find it is easier to move around in crowds and tight spaces with the SNA.

Cheers,

Tim
