TC sync between 2 788t's

i am trying to sync 2 788t's. not linked together. Ive read through the manual numerous times and came up empty. ive searched on the internet to no avail. starting to get frustrated with this. I have a lemo to bnc and a standard bnc cable. Set my master to Freerun and slave to rx ex. didnt work. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If not linked Both should be set to free run and one jams the other.  Make sure you have the right cable and that timecode is going the right direction. Out -In or bi directional etc.   If linked together than use the C-Link cable.

They will hold a jam for a really long time (8+hrs) if your settings are right.  Otherwise, CLink works great.

Master : free run

Slave : free run plus, after TC being plugged, "jam"

i just have a lemo out to bnc. i set both to free run. Slave is not reading the TC?

As RVD stated above, you need a lemo to lemo cable to jam two 788t's or the C-Link cable that comes with the 788t when purchased new.  There is no BNC time code input/output on the 788t.  There are BNC's near the timecode input, and I believe it says "sync" by them, but those are not for timecode, they are for word clock.

What did you connect the BNC end to?  As was said, all TC i/o on SD 7xx recorders is via the Lemo jack.  So--Lemo>Lemo, correctly wired as out>in.

Further to the good advice above you should also sync the wordclocks of both machines. The digital clock is different from the TC clock. For this you really do need a bnc/bnc cable
