jozzafunk
And then you see the price - sometimes I hate the film premium ( Doesn't seem that much but by the time you get it down here it's cost you about $150 for a bit of heavy duty nylon and strapping )

pampasound
Get the Petrol harness. It comes with a boom holder.
OmahaAudio
If you have a band supply place (as in marching bands) they wold probably have the leather cup thing that color guard members use to hold flag poles as they march. Jim Feeley
The Petrol boom holder that came with my harness is OK with external cables, but won't work (at least, not work well) with poles that have an XLR in their tail. Have they changed their holder? And won't that issue also exist for flag-pole holders? I've considered using a climbing chalk bag like this to hold my boom poles, but my bag has an internal cuff to keep chalk from flying around…and in a quick tryout the curly cable and right-angle XLR kind of got caught on it. Perhaps cutting off the cuff or a different bag would work better. But I haven't really explored it. I'm OK with resting the pole on my foot, especially on interiors. :-) Here's a few different chalk bags for between US$10 and $40: http://www.rei.com/search?query=chalk+bags Anyone else tried a chalk bag, or any of the other ideas mentioned here? If so, what did you think?
