tvaudioman
Repaired or bought new, they are both a write off. You win either way IMO. CrewC Tax write off does not mean it's free.
old school
Tax write off does not mean it's free. Really? Thanks Captain O. I'm pretty damn sure I said nothing about free. CrewC
tvaudioman
you said "repaired or bought new" the OP asked which was cheaper... your comment makes it look like the price doesn't matter because it's a write off. The price still matters, because more expensive option will cost more to the bottom line, even after taxes are completed and factored in. old school
The more expensive option is a larger write off to the untaxed 1099 income. a $100 cable is a $100 write off of the 1099 income. Same as a $100 rental. It all depends on what you're trying to achieve. I just bought 1000 feet of mic cable and new connectors and I made 5 100 ft cables and 10 50' cables. Easy work and way cheaper than buying pre made and I have a high degree of confidence I made them right and well. Other cables are much harder, take more time and the confidence level in my work is less. What is the value or what is cheaper. I know how I make my choices. You are free to make yours as you see fit. CrewC
